I think it's a matter of actually walking that carpet together and not just getting a picture together at the party or event later that I don't recall them actually doing until last night.
The duo, who started dating over the summer, made their first official appearance as a couple on Sunday at the InStyle/Warner Bros. Golden Globes bash. The Twilight actress, 26, wore a strapless dress with a full bottom while the Vampire Diaries actor, 36, looked dapper in a black suit. |

Nikki walked the red carpet with her Dad at the Emmy's which was appropriate for that time. I mean yeah they took some pics but didn't actually walk it together. That's the difference. As I recall they came together but Ian bowed out before the actual carpet walk, which was disappointing but understandable. It looks to me as if they are now going to be showing up together at events as a public couple :

Wow. It must be really hard being in the public eye. She's right though, we don't personally know these people and we can only go off of what we read and what they put out there. Unfortunately some sources do lie to put out a good story and some people just decide not to like someone because they want them to be with someone else (i.e. Nian vs Somereed). It must get tiring though - and it's a double edged sword. They probably want to ignore it but they see it everywhere. People are going to comment on them no matter what, but I wonder if it just adds fuel to the fire - some people are just not right in the mind and a celebrity response could make them think that whatever they are doing is working and they will push more. I really feel sorry for people that seem good that have to go through these things. I just could never see myself being so cruel to anyone.
Not to mention, we don't know what goes on in these relationships. Just because they look great at public appearances does not mean they are right for each other. Sometimes things don't work out and people move on. These people should look at their own lives and see how many significant others they have had and which ones were 'great on paper' but didn't pan out. I'm going to use an extreme case here, but take Rhianna and Chris Brown. If it never came out that he physically abused her, people would think they looked so great together. We just don't know so even though I am a Nian fan, he seems truly happy and until she breaks his heart, I can't say anything bad about her. Doesn't mean I will jump on her bandwagon just because I am a fan of Ian, but I won't bash her without hard proof that she's terrible. I would like to trust Ian's judgement too and the kind of person that he is and think that he would know better. He seems way to kind hearted and happy in life to waste his time with someone who did not follow in his same direction or have the same outlook on life.

Yeah I feel like there are a lot of people making rash judgments about Nikki either because of rumors or their love of Nian and/or Nina and it isn't fair at all and I have to tell you that it wouldn't matter who the girl was that came next, this was going to happen to her. So it isn't really Nikki that is the problem. As I've said I'm OK with her. I have no reason to dislike her, but I also have no real reason to really love her either, except as Rosalie whom I did enjoy in Twilight. But I don't know her personally and I haven't read enough about her to really form a strong opinion either way. I also don't believe gossip rags no matter what they say. Some are slamming her for dating Ian while separated. Well, a lot of people do that and they had been separated for a while already. We don't know what their relationship was like as ex's or if he was already dating or why they broke up (ie I read he cheated on her, but again, gossip!) or what happened so to put it all on her like she did something wrong is not right. Then there's also the 'girl code' argument and Ian already made a statement about that, that Nina and Nikki were acquaintances that met a few times and nothing more, not besties, and in truth Ian knew Nikki way before Nina did and Nina may have met her through Ian and been friendly to her due to her friendship with Ian. I mean we don't know squat! But Ian did say they weren't best friends so no girl code violation. Yet that's still being thrown at her and it must get annoying at times when you are happy and you post about your happiness and you get a ton of hate thrown at you. |

I'm disgusted. These people are psycho paths! Poor Nikki, Nina and Ian. Crazy ass NIANS! This makes me want to slap them all then throw up on them. I'm so glad that here we don't do this.

Nikki hasn't been actually hiding her ring hand, there are lots of photos with it on show, but since the onlines troll the Somereed tags, they have been using their theory that they are secretly engaged. Heads up Somereed fans now talking about a pregnancy, so that will be the next bit of gossip. And they want Nikki to do a cameo in the episode that he is directing. And the ring on her right hand looks like one of the Eternity rings she purchased while with Paul.......
