Posing this question - What if Elena never got her memories back? Would you guys be OK with it? I would be livid. I would never forgive the writers. She needs to remember. I would feel like DE never happened and just happened season six. All of those amazing moments she has to remember. The porch kiss, the hotel kiss, the marshmallows, Georgia, the I like you now just the way you are kiss, the necklace moment, the I love you compulsion, the YOU moment, their first time etc etc..... Should I go on? LOL |

I've been so busy making banners that I forgot I hadn't commented on the episode. I loved this episode entirely. I loved Delena and that happy aura around them. We are getting the honeymoon stage of their relationship that they cheated us out on. I mean, did they really think we didn't want to see them in their happiest moments? Yes, we lived for DE angst but after four years and them getting together, for them to skip it was a bitch move. I still feel the chemistry and I so appreciate Nina and Ian for doing their jobs and keeping it so real. I mean did you see the looks?    I loved Steroline and how Stefan looks at Caroline with so much emotion and he seems to admire her strength so much. I love how Caroline looks away when she feels Stefan really staring at her for too long. It's so cute. She doesn't want to assume anything and she's so in love with him that it's hard at times to look at him for too long without turning away from him. I mean, Stefan was laughing, I mean, really laughing. I've never seen him so happy with someone. With Elena, it was love but it was never friendship in the way he has with Caroline. He's so relaxed. I mean, look at how his is with her.    And as for Kai, I thought I wouldn't like him getting any type of conscience, but I also loved how they went about it. He's still sarcastic and he doesn't understand or want these "feelings" he's having and I love how he's having this internal conversation with himself about what the hell is going on. Elena and Jeremy saying good-bye was sad and I'll miss that relationship but they really haven't had Jeremy on very much lately so I can see how he ended up wanting to leave. It's sad Elena no longer has any family members around, though.  As for Bonnie, I don't know where she's gonna fit into all this when she's back. Jeremy is now gone. Maybe she can befriend Tyler or Matt. Both those options seemed like they could work. Anyway, this season has been pleasantly wonderful all the way around. See, how a show can survive without triangles all the time? |

Ok, saved the best for last. DELENA!!! Oh my gosh, so many wonderful things in this episode. Elena's positivity, Damon's honesty, their teamwork, their comradery! They were a real couple in this episode, like we've never gotten to see them before. And I just loved it. And Elena's speech was absolutely wonderful!! Even without her memories, she still knows he's the one. It's perfect. And, I have to say, I actually disagree with you guys about the sex scene. I do love their sexiness together, the hot sex scenes of the past have been very HOT indeed, and so much fun. But what we got in this episode was actually something we haven't had before with them in bed, and that is tenderness. It was sweet, it was romantic, it was love. I thought it was beautiful. I loved seeming them passionately kiss, and have him take her to the bed, and still be kissing and holding each other. And then showing them cuddling afterwards, I thought was so great. All the haters always saying that its just hormones between them can SUCK IT! lol. That was making love, not just sex. And I thought it was really wonderful. I loved it. That's not to say that I wouldn't love to see some hot stuff later on lol. But I liked that their first time after her memories were gone (basically her first time with him, as far as she can remember) was sweet and romantic and loving. I really liked that. Anyways, that's just me. Great points about Delena, I just love seeing them in this spot, period. They are great together and I love the whole "boyfriend/girlfriend" vibe they've got going on! I hadn't thought of that with Delena, that it was a more tender moment there...even if Damon still threw her roughly in the bed...lol Elena tenderly put his arm around her, which is a part of their relationship we didn't see, Elena wanting that intimacy with Damon and to cuddle with him...too cute...and in my imagination Damon would cuddle her all night in his sleep and not even know he was doing it. I think about all those bed scenes we got before they were ever together and they had the intimacy first, before the sex. They were able to just sit there and talk about their days together and they always had that. Elena still reaches out to him for comfort, too. We saw that when she called him up before Kai swiped her. I think the writers are purposely showing us those parts to stomp those arguments like Delena is all about sex. Of course we have always known they were way more than sex. They built an entire foundation of friendship and intimacy and trust long before the sex. I'm looking forward to more real relationship stuff from them. The writers promised us it so I want to see it!
I think the moment that she remembers will be related to the rain kiss or dancing...those were the big moments that she talked about falling for him, unless that necklace magically comes back into it again. The rain kiss would be cool especially if there was more to that conversation that we didn't see. Elena made him promise 'forever' but what if he proposed to her to demonstrate his promise of forever? I think I would die if he dropped to his knee! My inner little girl would freak the heck out...lol

I just watched these scenes again last night *swoon* and I realized what I wanted more of. I didn't need the Dex like when they first made love, vamping all over his bedroom. As you, I loved the tenderness of it all, but I found myself wanting the scene to be longer. He took her down to the bed and they kissed again, I just wish they gave us about 10 more seconds of them looking into each others eyes and caressing each other. Mmmm, I can't wait to see more of them finally being happy (for a 'little bit' anyways, in JPs words) |

I wish the writers could have shown the full sex scene since this would technically be another first as far as Elena's memories are concerned. But as everyone stated, I also like that we did get to see that tenderness between them so in the end it's nothing that garners a huge complaint. lol

I'm so glad Stefan has finally moved on and after a crappy start for him this season, I have enjoyed Stefan this season. I use to hate hate hate the crap he gave Damon even when Damon proved himself to everyone. When they finally let that go and let him be a supportive brother and just a friend to Elena, it has helped my love/hate relationship with him immensely. Same for Caroline, S4 & 5 I wanted to slap the girl every episode with the crap that was coming out of her mouth, but when she's not obsessing over Delena's relationship, she's actually just as enjoyable to watch as the rest. |
