Oh I forgot about that part! So I guess Kai's fate was sealed from the start. He crossed a line with Bonnie that she just wasn't about to forgive. It seems like her mind was already set on leaving Kai in the prison world. I also just realized that it was also what Damon meant with that quote about an answer to her prayers or something along those lines.
Though it was odd that Kai's disappearance never got mentioned again. No, 'Where's Kai?' or something as they're starting up the spell. They just sort of took off. Though I guess it was more of Kai having to be left there since he's leaving the show anyways and this was a way to get rid of him.
I do have to admit it was sad seeing Kai being left this time around given the state he was in and his boohoo crying made it a bit worst!
Yeah, it all came together for me in the end. Damon went to Bonnie and basically put together the plan to use Kai to get them to 1903 and he would then let her "go off" with him on a mission to find the 2nd ascendant, and she could then choose to get her revenge on him. In her case, she inflicted the pain, then left him alone - exactly what he did to her. Damon knew it was going to happen. Then when he and Elena found the ascendant in the house and Elena was wondering why Bonnie wasn't drawn to the house, that's when Damon revealed the plan to her that "Bonnie wasn't looking for the ascendant". I assume he told Elena the rest of the plan off screen, so they knew not to wait for Kai. The thing is, old Kai would have been one step ahead because he always expected everyone to be doing something devious, but new Kai had a soft spot in his heart so he was becoming more trusting. He trusted that Bonnie would at least hear him out, if nothing he would get to say his piece then go back with them to present day. Pretty brilliant plan, yet tragic at the same time.

I get why she did it, but if she wants to play, 'poor me, look what Kai did to me' she can't go and do the same thing right back to him. She is supposed to be better than that, so for me it was a disappointing move by Bonnie and I actually felt a bit sorry for Kai because he isn't just Kai anymore. He is Kai/Luke and he wanted to be forgiven so much that he agreed to help them in the first place. Is it really the right choice to do what she did to him? I would say no and I would have expected better from Bonnie.

In my opinion these two have 10,000 times more chemistry than BD supposedly do and them slowly getting together would have been a fun dance to watch...but I guess I won't happen. I wish JP would stop stealing TVDs actors for her other shows.

This one was posted by Kat Graham herself. It's not romantic but it sure shows their similarities. While Kai was ruthless before he became Kai/Luke, Bonnie has been ruthless in her judgementalness and unforgiveness. It takes a lot for Bonnie to forgive. I think this video really does show how both ways of being can be very similar. That's my take on it anyway.

I'm kind of sad that they are going to cut this possibility short most likely. It seems like the first opportunity for Bonnie to really have a decent storyline and complicated love interest without it being someone else's man or it being a totally random guy they threw at her. There was Jeremy but darn he was boring...

Yes there is still life in Bonkai!!!! A lot more life than there is in B*mon. We haven't seen the word 'crush' used there at all:
21dornan · 5h5 hours ago @julieplec The way Kai looks at Bonnie, he's falling for her am I right? #TVD ?
julieplecVerified account @julieplec @21dornan yes I think he has a little crush.

This is very promising:
@1dofwinchesters · 6h6 hours ago @julieplec @n_Realish Damon AND Stefan were rippers yet we had Delena and Stelena so why not Bonkai ?
julieplecVerified account @julieplec @1dofwinchesters @n_Realish you'll see.

I honestly think that this is the first guy I have ever considered shipping with Bonnie and he obviously has a thing for her and now JP has confirmed that, but she is trying to snatch him for her new show so I don't know what will come of it. Maybe her show will flop. I'm certainly not watching anything else she puts out. She's frustrated the hell out of me with how little she gives to shippers combined with tons of angst...no thanks, I'll pass on more of that formula.

lol yeah and Klaus and despite all that talk about Caroline not 'giving in to Klaus' and yada yada. She still wrote Klaroline both kissing and getting a sex scene (heck Klaus wasn't even in the same show at the time) and Klaus did more harmful stuff and A-hole things to the gang more than Kai did.
Of course JP opinion or not, the fact that Kai is leaving is what really kills this pairing off.

Wait a second is that before or after JP says that Kai may have a crush on Bonnie? If she hates the ship why not just make Kai neutral to Bonnie? Kai's essentially a character that she made up so it's not like she was 'obligated' to write him a certain way. I don't know I just found that odd lol. I certainly couldn't find myself hating a ship yet still writing romantic implications about it lol.

No she just said about the crush and as far as him leaving...he just is doing the pilot and the show may or may not get picked up so who knows whether he will stay or go. He's certainly NOT the asshole he was in the beginning now that he has Luke inside him. It's an interesting dynamic to me, to see this sociopath who we all decided, nope, he's irredeemable to have this second chance at normal feelings because in essence a sociopath is missing vital emotional connections in his brain, and now Kai has those, and now those feelings are overwhelming him...I really like his story so damn I hope it doesn't just end here.
