Wait a second is that before or after JP says that Kai may have a crush on Bonnie? If she hates the ship why not just make Kai neutral to Bonnie? Kai's essentially a character that she made up so it's not like she was 'obligated' to write him a certain way. I don't know I just found that odd lol. I certainly couldn't find myself hating a ship yet still writing romantic implications about it lol. No she just said about the crush and as far as him leaving...he just is doing the pilot and the show may or may not get picked up so who knows whether he will stay or go. He's certainly NOT the asshole he was in the beginning now that he has Luke inside him. It's an interesting dynamic to me, to see this sociopath who we all decided, nope, he's irredeemable to have this second chance at normal feelings because in essence a sociopath is missing vital emotional connections in his brain, and now Kai has those, and now those feelings are overwhelming him...I really like his story so damn I hope it doesn't just end here. Oh I was in the mind that this show was already set to run/air on TV so yeah there is a possibility for him to be back as a series regular on that note.

Bonkai will not be happening, this will become apparent in the up and coming episodes. Bonnie really isn't into this man. Kai, not only has not changed, he will be a lot worse then he was before, this also will be demonstrated in the episodes leading up to the finale. Watch and see........

Well the same could be said about Bamon as to whether or not there are romantic feelings there. In Bonkai's case at least Julie has stated that Kai has feelings (a crush) for Bonnie so that's one step closer than Bamon are. I saw that you said the same elsewhere about Kai. Was there a spoiler I missed on that or just a hunch or speculation/theory? I could see Julie going either way on him but if she is taking him off the show to her new one then yeah she might be inconsistent with his behavior and make him just evil again to finish him off on the show, but as of where we are now, we have been seeing glimmers that he is no longer just the sociopathic guy that he was before. Heck he helped Bonnie and the gang get to 1903. Sure he made some serious mistakes but give the guy credit for trying to help afterwards. It didn't come naturally, of course, but as a result of the merge he took on Luke's empathy and care and concern for others as a positive side effect or do you think differently? Do you think he was faking it all? I can't see how with that last scene with Kai when Bonnie left him and nobody was around to see it. I feel like it could go either way depending on what JP wants to do with him.
I did check and only the pilot has been filmed for Cordon and there won't be more filmed until the show is definitely picked up. I think it has a good chance to be picked up though and JP may just go forward with Kai's demise. It really is a shame that she keeps cannibalizing TVD for her other shows and guts it of many of its best characters. The ratings would have remained better had she not done the TO spin off which took away those fans from TVD and losing more interesting characters doesn't help the show one bit.

Kai, not only has not changed, he will be a lot worse then he was before, this also will be demonstrated in the episodes leading up to the finale. Watch and see........ Where are you getting this idea that Kai definitely has not changed? The whole time leading up to the "merge" they kept specifically mentioning how whoever won the merge would absorb the essence of the other so that they become one person. They literally said, on the show, several times, that character traits would be merged, that the person who died would in essence live on through the "winner" of the merge. What we have been shown since then is Luke living on as a part of Kai. That is a magical repercussion. As far as I've seen it's not a matter of debate. It's not like nothing was ever mentioned about how that all works and Kai just showed up saying, "Hey guys, I'm good now, for no reason! Trust me!" They made it clear that it was part of the story, part of the spell, part of the repercussions of the merge. And he has done plenty of things since the merge that he definitely didn't need to do in order to help the gang as a result of his new found empathy, so it has been shown to be true.
Now of course Bonnie has chosen to ignore all these facts and stab him in the back anyways, so could he come out of that experience fueled by homicidal rage and a need for revenge? Yes, definitely that could happen. And as Bonnie has proven in these last couple episodes, it doesn't take a sociopath to take violent revenge on someone.
In any case, I don't see how you can say for sure that something will never happen unless you are one of the people making the decisions. Which obviously none of us are. We're all just here having fun speculating about what could happen between Bonnie and Kai, given the right circumstances. Clearly Bonnie has proven that forgiveness isn't something that comes easy to her, so chances are she is never going to accept Kai. But Kai clearly has feelings for her, JP has confirmed it herself. So the ship is not imaginary. Just saying.

Exactly! At least this ship has the beginning of legs. There are confirmed romantic feelings on one side of it... It used to be a pretty crackship, but that changes things. For once it seems someone wants Bonnie and not Elena, not Caroline...Bonnie, and I would think that alone should make the Bonnie fans at least slightly interested in where it could go.

I still can't help but to compare this to Klaroline. Caroline certainly 'wasn't into this man' either in regards to Klaus and I never really liked that ship so at the time I liked that Caroline was sticking to her grounds until Klaus crossover'd from his own show and then that escalated quickly lol.
Though obviously Kai is not just going to open his arms wide and Bonnie will jump into his arms and straight into a relationship. Of course if JP was going in that direction this pair would have to take baby steps to rebuild any trust and damage in this relationship to start at least a rocky friendship. It wouldn't be something that JP hasn't done in terms of her other pairings on the show, even Klaroline. The development stages of relationships are what make them fun and engaging to watch. To see these complicated/messed up relationships go from where they are to romance. Let's be honest there's no pairing in this show that's this innocent/chaste romance composed of saints so what's one more complicated mess to throw into the mix lol. It's just entertainment anyways so it's fun to see when writers take the time to develop such relationships and not take cheap shortcuts. I would feel cheated if that happened to a pair of characters I was actively following and rooting for. I like things to be organic and built upon.
Before the announcement of Kai doing the pilot for JP's show, I thought that going towards the finale, JP would build more on Kai and Bonnie's relationship with the baby steps I mentioned before, then come the finale something happens to cause a life and death situation and Bonnie and Kai would have to put aside differences to cast some spell, maybe something that requires you to have trust/close bond with the person to pull off. And Bonnie would keep insisting she could do it on her own/find another way yada yada etc. just something like that. But Kai might be absent for some of these episodes so who knows.
I mean I would assume JP planned on doing something when she made Kai's focus from being all about the Gemini and his family to suddenly dedicating an episode or two where he's all about Bonnie and nothing else. Why change your focus on a character if you as a writer claims to hate a certain 'pairing' with said character. Then, uh why didn't you just keep him neutral to Bonnie? Bleh again these are like those days back in season 3/4 where I just ignored things JP said on her twitter cause sometimes they made no sense in connection with what she was showing us on screen.

Of course with JP writing it, it could go the way of freaky sociopath obsession with Bonnie so we'll just have to wait and see. Kai would not know how to deal with the feelings he's feeling just like he's struggling with the other feelings he's having. But then we have Bonnie who is hellbent on causing him pain so this could go sideways really fast and hey, at least it's interesting....lol I'm not invested either way. I'm just enjoying wondering where they are going with it all.

She doesn't want us to know everything she plans! I think she likes to think some of it is a surprise but with good writing it never really ever should be a total surprise. There is always foreshadowing of what could be in the future if the writer takes a turn that way. That's the hook. Otherwise its really shotty writing to suddenly change a character's perspective for no apparent reason. ( Although I can think of a few examples of JP doing just that!) The Bonkai relationship is more organic in that he is a new character and has shown a fascination with Bonnie all the way back to the beginning of when they met. There wasn't years and years of hatred and suddenly they are pals. If they become friends eventually it will be earned.

Or just put 'Hmm watch the show and find out' if she wants to be a bit teasing with it without really giving much away. Feels like there's a lot of whiplashes with her tweets, saying one thing and then turning around and saying another, odd lol.

The dynamics of their relationship that we've been shown so far just seems interesting in a sparking your curiosity sort of way in where these writers will take this dynamic. Even more so since Kai hasn't really been much of an antagonist lately so are they planning to kill him or keep him around. Again just curiosity in what the writers plan to do with this character and his relationship with Bonnie if they're not intending to just write him off.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bonnie winds up killing him. But it will just confirm to me why I really don't like Bonnie as a character. I think she's way too rigid in her thinking. Everything is black and white and she holds grudges big time. At least they kept her true to character that way.

Or maybe the big witch fight at the end is Bonnie and Kai and Damon plucks his heart out to save her ass and all the Bamon fans can swoon as if he hasn't saved her a 1000 times before and would do it no matter what, but whatever.. No matter what happens I find the dynamic interesting...that is all.
