When it first happened, I was like, "WHAT?!?!?" But, as time goes on I'm kind of liking it. We haven't seen enough to really know what the exact plan is. But, maybe it'll bring good. Honestly, I'm kind of glad Stefan is attempting to get revenge. Also, it may work in some way. He has a pretty big advantage having all the coffins. But when the new episode comes on, I could be saying "Stefan you idiot". Right now, I'm kind of enjoying it. I like the naughty Stefan don't get me wrong but I heard Klaus is gonna get mrs. Mayor on his side and make it seem like Stefan is the one causing the trouble and if he just gives his siblings back then all the madness can end. I think everyone is gonna be like "Stefan just give them back already"! I just can see it twisting into Klaus turning everyone against him. he is a manipulative little punk! Wow I like this smiley haha not for anyone just because I wanna use it.

I love that one too and this and this one haha I agree... they are just going to be mad that he stopped them killing Klaus and then gets his freedom and then just tries to annoy Klaus with a shotty plan. I was kinda hoping Katherine would be a little more part of the plan. She is pretty awesome at diabolical plan making. Stefan....hmmm he is good at stopping diabolical plans, not as too at making them. I guess it will give us the scene where Damon and Elena will figure out that he didn't let them kill Klaus to save Damon.... I did wish that Stefan was able to get one over Klaus though.

I want both..... I want him to accepted being a Ripper, to let all those guilt go. And be able accepted things that he can't change.

I really do not think Klaus would've left them alone for good especially with Elena still alive. So Stefan came up with a plan to keep Klaus in check. Now if this plan is actually any good, we will have to wait and see.

There has to be more to it, is what I am thinking, some underlying reason why he wanted Klaus messing around in Mystic Falls or something. Katherine put him up to it, and she's always scheming so there's got to be something else we don't know yet. This is what I'm thinking too. Which is why I don't really know as of right now if it's a good idea or a bad idea. Obviously on the surface it seems a bit stupid, but I'd like to think there is more to this plan. The show is usually good at that - making us think one thing, then later twisting what we thought we knew around to be something else. I think in one of her interviews JP indicated we hadn't seen the worst of Klaus yet, or the worst of Stefan either. Maybe he has some other things up his sleeve, too.

When it comes to the revenge I guess I need some other perspectives on this, maybe someone can better help me understand Stefan's motives. I don't understand why Stefan needs revenge in the first place, after he made a deal with Klaus of his own accord. Klaus never forced his hand, he chose to join Klaus of his own free will, he did it because he was in desperate need of a cure for his brother. I think Stefan knew all that the deal entailed when he agreed to it. He knew Klaus wanted him to turn it off, and give him 10 years of ripper Stefan. And Stefan agreed to this, but actually he was holding on to his humanity (thus going against the agreements) and Klaus had no choice but to compel him. I think if anything Klaus did Stefan a favor by letting him go way before his ten year sentence was up..(basically a few months after). So why this need for revenge? It seems like Stefan just wants to avoid owning up to his own actions and facing the fact that there really is no one else to blame here. Don't get me wrong I completely understand and sympathize with the fact that his life has been screwed but I don't really see Klaus as the one to blame. I just think it's a result of some very poor circumstances and decisions thus making Stefan's need for revenge a little bit misguided. The only thing Klaus is guilty of is his own list of crimes against humanity (which is a pretty long list). But when it comes to Stefan, he was just making sure Stefan honored the deal that he made. Am I making any sense?

Am I making any sense? Total sense! I agree with this post 100%. I can empathize with Stefan and I feel bad for him. I mean he saved my Damon and all but at the end of the day he made the deal he has to stick with it. maybe it was the whole eat Elena thingy! That was cruel but he told Stefan to turn it off and he didn't. He hid the necklace and Rebekah saw through it. Revenge to me is pointless. You saved Damon, you knew you were making a deal with the devil and you did it. So why the revenge at this point?

I don't know if that makes sense. There was never really a choice.

He went to him and he did agreed to it and in fact, Klaus let him off early for good behavior. I was sort of surprised at the revenge thing. I thought he'd be relieved, and at the time they seemed so chummy, until Stefan took those coffins. Maybe it will make more sense later.

I don't know if that makes sense. There was never really a choice. I think there's always a choice. Maybe not a desirable choice(like letting his brother die), but a choice none the less. Letting Damon die was just a choice that Stefan would have never considered (rightfully so being that's his brother) but it was still a choice he could have made. Thankfully he didn't though. But the price he had to pay to keep his brothers life was a big one. And ultimately the decision to go with Klaus was Stefan's, as he could have walked away from all of it, but he was desperate so he made a deal with the devil. I understand feeling terrible that he feel he's lost everything, but ultimately he really hasn't. Both Damon and Elena are alive and still wanted to help him. It's Stefan who's decided to alienate himself from them both maybe because of guilt or shame or revenge. The decision to turn on his humanity again rests on him. He can or at least could have had all of it back if he wanted.

To be completely honest I think it is impossible to rationalize this. Of course it is not rational of Stefan to place blame solely on Klaus and maybe in small twisted way he should be grateful to Klaus? (I don't totally agree with that, but that is not really the point)
Stefan is angry and anyone would be. He is taking that anger out on Klaus, but that is not to say that he thinks it is all Klaus' fault.. This shows Stefan is not perfect. He gets mad too and in this case could make a mess of things (we don't know that for sure).
Side note: When Stefan said revenge I thought immediately to what Mason said about redemption. Do you guys think that will come into play?

Hmmm...interesting thought that maybe Stefan will learn that revenge won't help him, like Mason did and may even hurt him and those he loves. But the word 'redemption' in Mason's case was more like a spiritual thing and being as he was a ghost that word make perfect sense.

I think all this revenge stuff will backfire big time, and Stefan will learn that revenge was not the answer. But I predict a lot of bloodshed first. I think Stefan has a right to be angry about the circumstances because they do suck.... But I think his actions will have severe consequences, and then maybe that's where the redemption part comes in, because he'll have to make everything right.

"I can't change what happened to me, but I can change what happens to Tyler. I don't need revenge, Damon. I need redemption." I think maybe it is not Stefan that will seek redemption, but Damon. One scenario, but I am sure there are others, but this came to mind with the spoilers.. Damon can't change what happened in the past (with Katherine), but he can change what happens with Elena. Maybe Damon will seek redemption after finding out what happened with the whole Stefan not killing Klaus thing. AND maybe Stefan will seek redemption as well once he realizes that revenge does get old.
