I honestly don't get the aspect of Klaus taking everything from him either. Stefan willingly made that deal with Klaus and he knew what Klaus wanted. Stefan made the choice of getting rid of all that to make sure the deal with Klaus was good. Klaus didn't bite Damon and infect him; that was Tyler. Damon was actually trying to do some good and save 2 of Elena's friends, on his own, and was willing to fight a Witch, something he has a horrible track record with, to do that. He got bit for it. Damon wanted to kill himself too to be out of everyone's way after seeing what happened to Rose but once again, Stefan made the choice of stopping him and putting himself in that position with Klaus.
If Stefan should be seeking 'revenge' on anyone, it should be Witches. Stefan went to the 100 Dead Witches to ask for a cure for Damon and Emily outright told him 'No'. Emily has a stick up her ass as far as Damon is concerned cause she's screwed him over from the beyond more than most people have in the mortal world. Damon has guarded her family all these years and she seems to have it out for him, even despite the aforementioned and the fact that he saved Bonnie and was trying to help keep Klaus from becoming a Hybrid. Stefan should be going after Witches for putting him in that position cause otherwise, he'd be without his Brother if Bonnie hadn't heard the Witches talking.

Emily owes Damon; she should have helped Stefan. You're right, Damon kept his word and Emily broke hers.
Although I think that stealing the coffins was an awesome thing to do, it was also really stupid. I think it is going to backfire.
But one thing I am really happy about? It shows that Stefan is not the only one to do a rash, impulsive stupid thing.
Of course, it could also be some master plan with Katherine but for right now it seems a dumb thing to do.

I actually think it will. I thought of that almost immediately after Stefan stole the coffins. I think all this revenge stuff will backfire big time, and Stefan will learn that revenge was not the answer. But I predict a lot of bloodshed first. I think Stefan has a right to be angry about the circumstances because they do suck.... But I think his actions will have severe consequences, and then maybe that's where the redemption part comes in, because he'll have to make everything right. "I can't change what happened to me, but I can change what happens to Tyler. I don't need revenge, Damon. I need redemption." I think maybe it is not Stefan that will seek redemption, but Damon. One scenario, but I am sure there are others, but this came to mind with the spoilers.. Damon can't change what happened in the past (with Katherine), but he can change what happens with Elena. Maybe Damon will seek redemption after finding out what happened with the whole Stefan not killing Klaus thing. AND maybe Stefan will seek redemption as well once he realizes that revenge does get old. I never thought about it like that. That could make it interesting. I like that kind of.

Just a serious question. Everyone is saying Stefan had a choice. I want to know how? To me, that's not a choice. I wouldn't even have to think if it was my sister. While I don't know if what Stefan is doing is going to be a good thing, I understand why he's doing it. His life has been turned upside down. Can you imagine what the reaction had been had he not saved Damon? Either time? ( Making the deal with Klaus, and when Damon was going to kill Klaus) Either way, Stefan was screwed. Neither option was good, but to me, it was never a choice.

Neither option was good, but to me, it was never a choice. I think the option of letting Damon die was not a desirable choice (and certainly one that I would never make if it came to one of my siblings so I get it) but a choice none the less. I'm not saying that Stefan should have let Damon die, but ultimately his decision to join Klaus in order to save Damon was a decision he made alone. No one else did could have made that decision for him. Klaus didn't seek him out, he came to klaus looking for a deal to save his brothers life. He agreed to said deal that Klaus proposed even knowing the consequences. So while I get that Stefan only did it to save his brother, it was his decision and his choice. I think either way the outcome wouldn't have been desirable, and there would be undesirable consequences no matter what he chose. He could have either lost his brother, or his humanity. He chose to loose his humanity instead, so now seeking revenge seems kind of misguided, because as screwed up as the circumstances were, everything that' happened is a result of decisions Stefan made.

Stefan CHOSE to save Damon and go with Klaus. Was it a choice between terrible options? Absolutely. And I'm not saying he should have let Damon die. But in the end he made a decision, one he had to have known would result in him killing innocent people, because he loved his brother more.

Really wish they'd explore Damon's history with the Bennetts and the exact dealing he made with Emily cause there has to be something that happened for Emily to hate him as much as she does from beyond the grave. Damon even said he tried to save her from the Witch Burning so she's royally pissed at him for something.

Though I don't know why she'd think that.

I need to go back over the whole Tomb Vampire stuff cause I think it's confusing in my mind right now.

I want to point out that Stefan met and stayed around Klaus to begin with(in the 20's)-- had this never happened, Klaus would have no interest in him to begin with. Its not just the fact that Damon died that brought this on him. Klaus said he had other plans for Stefan when the sacrifice was going down and he tried to trade himself for Jenna. I think that, honestly, saving Damon's life was just an in to Stefan, but Klaus had intended to "recruit" him one way or the other. It just happened faster/easier because Klaus had something Stefan wanted.

I know I'm going to sound crazy. But the more I think about it, I don't really think Stefans out for revenge. I feel like him and Katherine have a plan. I didn't really trust Katherine before, but I feel like she really does care about Stefan and Damon. After Klaus freed Stefan, it's not like Klaus was going to leave them alone. They always would have had to watch their backs. So he kind of has an upper hand. Not saying it's all going to work. But maybe it's not about revenge. Just another possibilty.

Letting your sibling die to me, isn't a choice. It's kind of part of the job of being a sibling. You do whatever you have to. I see where you're coming from. But I don't really agree.

And this kind of becomes a problem in itself with me. Mikael, some big baddy who would 'destroy them all' gets offed after such build up. Then they're supposed to turn around and magically, Katherine has a plan to down Klaus? Come on

Just because it was Stefan's choice to hand himself over to Klaus does not mean that he gave the right away to be mad/upset/angry about the outcome. It does not mean it does not warrant him wanting payback for the torture he endured. Yes it was his choice and it is now his choice to get mad about it.
