Bit of a slower episode this past week. It wasn't really my favourite, which is surprising since GRRM wrote it.
The bear pit with Brienne was a bit disappointing. A couple of lines I really enjoyed from the book were cut. One I was sort of expecting but the other I wish they had kept the others. Then again, GRRM didn't write that scene (it was supposed to be in a different episode but it was moved). Oh well.

Sam...-_- You killed a White Walker with the blade you found from the First Men and you...leave it behind. The blade is made from Dragon's fire, right? I figure when the White Walkers do come knocking in force, Dany will be the difference maker with her Dragons and being able to help forge weapons to defend Westeros...whenever she makes it to Westeros that is.
Emilia Clarke *whistles* I don't blame the guy from the Second Sons for fighting for her for her great beauty. I'm also glad he killed the one captain with the scar. The way he talked to Dany the entire time made me want to kill him too. Guy just pissed everyone off it seems (Jorah and Barriston too). So Dany has expanded her forces by another 2k and taken away some defenders too of the current city. Wondering if they take her deal now or if they'll still hold out. I assume between the new guy and his forces and some strategy from Jorah/Barriston, they'll devise some siege plans (I'd say the Second Sons, as mercs, probably have some experience in such tactics). I'm wondering though how long Dany can play the way she's been playing before she hits a setback.
Someone, ANYONE, stab Joffrey in his damn throat. What he did to Tyrion on his wedding day was disgusting. He's supposed to be King and he's doing these little childish acts? I was really hoping Tywin would have put him in his place (you could see how uneasy Joffrey was with him in the past episode) but no, he rides Tyrion's ass instead. And the threat to Sansa from Joffrey, this kid, I want his head on a pike. So rage inducing he is. And his mother? Whoo!!! Loras is trying to make small talk with her and she blows him off and Margery is trying to be nice too and she tells her if she calls her sister again, she'll have her strangled? Tyrion and Jamie seem to have the only redeeming qualities of the family but to hell with the rest of the Lannisters. I actually can't wait for Jamie to arrive with Brienne to see how that goes over with Cersei and Tywin mainly, specifically how Cersei reacts to the relationship of the 2. And now that Tyrion is married to Sansa, how does Jamie go about seeing her back to her family? I'm sure Tyrion would allow it but the others wouldn't take so kindly to the idea. Arya is already on her way back thanks to the Hound, and like I said, if Sansa had gone with him, both of the girls would be back with the family and if Bran & Rickon weren't heading to the wall, all of them would be back together again at the Twins.

The blade was dragon's glass. But yeah, leaving it behind was dumb.
Well, Joffery is a child and a spoiled one at that. But yeah, Joffery is terrible. Jaime and Tyrion are two of my favourite characters.
Glad we got to see Davos again.

Just remembered that there is no episode Sunday because of Memorial Day weekend. Another note, I'm kinda glad they toned down Daario's look because in the books he looked ridiculous. Blue hair, blue beard, gold tooth. Though I suppose they toned down his look completely because he looks normal now. Also, really enjoyed Lady Olenna explaining the complicated family relationships that are going to happen when Margery marries Joffery and Cersei marries Loras.

Well, this was pretty much the episode I'd been waiting for all season. When I first read the Red Wedding chapter in the book I was in disbelief and had to read it over again.
It was sad to see Arya so close to Robb and Catelyn and yet it is stripped away from her. Bring on the finale.

Wh...what the hell did I just watch!?!?!? Robb and Talisa (sp?) . I was actually disgusted with the way Talisa was being stabbed . Bolton...geez. And watching another Dire Wolf die . Frey didn't take kindly to the vow being broken by Robb and he made him pay for it . Frey was being too nice but all this really stems from Robb. Breaking his vow and then killing the Karstark creating the perfect storm for his demise. And Arya was so close . Still, Talisa and the look on her face when getting stabbed...*shudders* Finally seeing Grey Worm in action, wow! His style just seems calm and precise/calculated with every action of the spear. The other guy was pretty awesome too. These 3 were enough to take the city though? Hell. This episode...DAMN!!! THAT ENDING.

All I can say is oh my god that sucked! It was hard for me not to cry with this episode and that takes alot for me. This was so sad! I'm glad I don't let myself get spoiled for the shock value alone, even if it's not a good shock.

The look on Talisa's face still haunts me. I actually didn't go to sleep Sunday night and the entire time I was up, that bit was just playing in the back of my mind. And what happened to Blackfish? He said he needed to go find a tree just prior to and we didn't see him again. Edmur was carried off to bed his wife but I half expect him killed by the crowd. I'm actually expecting Blackfish to probably make a trip to the Vale to inform Cat's sister of what happened and see how she takes it. Cat was broken in that final moment though. She just saw her first born die, she believed Bran and Rickon dead and she could only wonder about Sansa & Arya. The Stark family is ruined and is out of play/the game in my mind unless whatever Bran is destined for pays off (Arya could be a wildcard as well) or Sansa steps up and gets on the level of Margery/Dany in gaining power. Starks really weren't able to play the game sadly .

Yeah and they are really the ones I cared about most. I hated when Ned died, too. I like Dany. I'm thinking she has to be the salvation of them all. I didn't read the books and I don't do spoilers for this and it makes it more fun that way for me so I don't know what happens or what is expected to happen.

I love Dany but I have to keep reminding myself that she's still on another continent and still building her army. With the Starks out of play and power outside of Stannis (do the Greyjoys count? I know they've been mentioned by Stannis but do they have the forces to be a problem?) being consolidated to the Lannisters (King's Landing, The North due to Tyrion's marriage, Bolton and Frey are siding), really the only remaining contention is the Brotherhood but they don't have the numbers. Wildlings are concerning themselves with the Night's Watch mainly but that could be interrupted by the White Walkers.
Taking out the Starks really just allows any new coming threat to be focused on more which doesn't work in that force's favor.
I've only read the first book and planned to read the others after the seasons pertaining to their events aired. I really do like going into this show blind.

Yeah, me too. This is probably my second favorite show next to TVD right now. I'm guessing we will be surprised by some future alliances that form that we can't foresee right now, but I do think Dany will be at the center of it. Everything seems to be going her way right now. She's building momentum and the dragons will certainly be something many will consider to be a sign, especially as they grow bigger and who knows how fast they will grow.

Will write up more later but just have to express my sheer disgust at Boltan/Fray's men and their savagery. What they did to Robb's body (tied it to a post so it could sit on a horse, beheaded it and beheaded his Wolf so they could put its head on his body to parade it around mockingly) was a bit much for me. And Arya had to see this too. I'm glad she let loose later on.
That moment when everyone tightens up, the air is sucked out of the room and you just want to creep away before things go south? Also known as the moment when Jofferey mouthed off to Tywin. Just seeing that "You've f'd up now..." look on everyone else's faces was priceless. Jofferey continues to prove a little .... with a crown on it's head. Wanting to serve Sansa her brother's head? Someone assassinate him. PLEASE!
So Stannis is backing down cause Melisandre has seen in the fire that the danger from the North is the dire situation over fighting for the throne. Davos is sparred to help in raising the army too. Now if the remaining Kings and forces can make the same decision.

I am addicted to this show, despite how often it makes me feel horrible inside. I think I keep watching for the almost impossible hope that eventually all the s***ty awful people will get what's coming to them and the good guys will win a few rounds. Speaking of which, Joffrey's death was really unsatisfying. For all the horrible, despicably awful things that kid has done, I really wanted to see him get his head kicked in, or face torn off, or something equally bloody. Dying of poison ... not horrible enough!!!! I just have to hold onto hope that Arya is going to eventually kick the crap out of everyone. Meanwhile ... if they kill off Tyrion, I am DONE WITH THE SHOW!!!!

I agree...Tyrion must stay. He's my favorite! I thought the poisoning was pretty awful but well deserved.
