TVD, TW, HG, etc.: What YA Series Do You Want Next

I'm guessing it didn't hit it off like other adaptations or it barely broke even for them to not even want to invest in another to have people not see it due to the first. I really did want to see where it went from there since they got their footing with the first movie.

Trailer is finally out for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones:


From what's seen in the trailer, definitely want to see this. The trailer has a nice vibe/atmosphere to it and I like what I saw just from what I know of the first book in the series.

Seems whatever Screen Gems does/handles on the supernatural side (Underworld, Priest, Legion), I enjoy so this looks like it's going to be another notch in that belt.

So a while back I saw the preview to beautiful creatures and when they mentioned it was based on a book I downloaded it into my nook. I've finally come to read it and it's awesome. It's a for part book and im in the middle of the second one already.

I like it because it's in the perspective of the boy and the supernatural aspect is the girl.

I recommend everyone to look into it xoxo

Hoping to tap a new vein in the young adult vampire genre that made Twilight Saga such a global hit, Reliance Entertainment and IM Global are co-financing the first installment of a new film franchise based on the six-volume Richelle Mead young adult novel series that will come to the screen as Vampire Academy: Blood Sisters. Daniel Waters, who wrote the iconic Sundance black comedy Heathers, has written the script for the first movie. His brother, Mean Girls helmer Mark Waters, will direct the film. Casting is in full swing for a summer shoot.

An international search led the producers to Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures) and Australian newcomer Lucy Fry. They will play lead characters Rose and Lissa alongside Russian star Danila Kozlovski (We Are From The Future,) who will play the role of Dimitri.

Vampire Academy? I have all but the last 2 I think from the main and stopped before the spin-off started. They were planning to break out a certain someone if I remember correctly. Need to finish up the series but my book following right now is all over the place -_-

They are really good. I loved them. I've read them about 4 times! I liked them best out of all the YA series that I've read. I'm not overly excited about the casting of Rose. The girl looks to little & skinny. I know Nikki Reed is too old to be in the movie & alot of people would associate her with Twilight, but with the way they described Rose in the book that's who I had pictured Rose to resemble. I think Nikki is beautiful & she had the right build for Rose. The guy they picked for Dimitri is ok, but he's going to have to grow his hair out again. I am glad they did get a Russian guy to play the part though!

Just looked up Zoey Deutch. Eh...I really don't see 'Rose' when I look at her =\ Looking at Nikki Reed, I can agree with that choice. Will wait for a trailer ultimately though as I didn't think much of the casting for Jace in MI but from the trailer, I liked what I saw and it shuttered any worries I had.

Favorite series is Mercy Thompson/Alpha & Omega (same author, same shared universe) but I think that's more urban fantasy and not YA.
