in what world is the the ripper of monterey better than damon salvatore?

I felt bad for poor Andie and it's not like it had the desired effect of stopping Damon from following Stefan. It was just sheer cruelty, especially the way she was relieved when she realized it was Stefan there in the dark and he turned out to be her murderer. Yeah, I don't know how anyone can say Stefan hasn't done the same and worse than Damon, conting all the bodies on his wall of shame that he brutally ripped into pieces. So, how anyone can act as if Damon is oh so bad while glorifying Stefan as the 'good' one is beyond me. At least Damon has reformed a whole lot since the show began. He's only gotten better. Stefan can still go off the deep end at any time and into Ripper. Nothing has changed with him. I'm not saying Damon will never kill again. They're both vampires, and they've both done horrible things but at least DEs don't pretend that their guy never did while condemning another.

Because Damon gets it. He is not a replacement for Elena’s last family members. Thank you Damon.

Damon has a maturity level eons beyond Stefan. He will gladly give his life or step aside and let the woman he loves love someone else. He defended Stefan so many times when she misunderstood what he'd done. When has Stefan done that for Damon? When has Stefan EVER explained to Elena why Damon did something he did that put him in a bad light? No, he's more likely to be the one TO put Damon in the bad light, like his recent remark, "Let's just leave the murdering to Damon." Coming from the Ripper of Monterey no less...such hypocrisy it makes me gag.

Damon kills random girl Jessica!!! ........... Stake.....Fire.....Burn HIM..... Get over it Damon your so emotional. Blah blah. Stefan Rippers the girls in the house. Literally eats them and tears them apart and puts them back together...... Stefan was doing it to protect Damon.....Stefan was being a good brother.....Stefan had to do it. I love it! So since Stefan went to Klaus to save Damon being a ripper is now ok? Honestly this isn't justification. Did he have to rip those girls apart? Could he perhaps just have drank them? I love that Damon is alive and kicking but I'm not going to say it's ok to kill others so that a beloved TVD character can live... Like Elena and said sacrifice? Letting Elena walk into a sacrifice in which a Wolf and Vampire would be sacrificed in. And innocent wolf and vamp? And while I'm on it I love how people compare Damon feeding Elena his blood to Stefan feeding Elena his blood. They say "well Damon did it"! Yes Damon fed her blood so that when she went into a stupid sacrifice she would come out alive. Was it selfish? Yes! but Elena would be alive. She's a vampire now anyway right? Stefan feeds Elena his blood to save her? No to drive his car off the bridge and drown her the way her parents died. He was essentially feeding her to kill her/turn her. Damon had nothing to do and wanted nothing to do with the sacrifice thought it was a horrible idea but just in case so your not gone forever here's my blood. Stefan feeds Elena his blood to drown/kill her the way her parents died. I'm sorry I'm missing why it's ok to compare these two VERY different motive driven force feeds? |

What about the hybrid Stefan recently decided it was a-ok to kill? The poor dude actually helped and talked to Stefan to get Elena free and that's what he got for his trouble, then the guy in the hospital that he turned just to force Jeremy to kill him or he was going to let the newbie vamp loose on Jer? C'mon, this is the 'good' guy? I'd just like to see some honest to goodness truthfulness out of these fans of Stefan who love to condemn Damon but won't even acknowledge that Stefan has done just as bad and worse.

I suppose it really does stem from Stefan himself and his attitude that he's better than Damon. He conveniently forgets the things he's done and is all too willing to condemn his brother for everything.

Loved this post on tumblr: you know what really pisses me off? that stefan, who could give a (cuss word) about jeremy, as he has already demonstrated, is the one who gets to bring jeremy home with elena while damon is stuck on that gosh forsaken island.and if you need an example: Elena: Are you listening to me?! He’s going to kill Jeremy! Stefan: well that’s not really my problem. One thing I love about Klaus is how he always pounds into Stefan's head that he is just as bad as he is, that he is in fact the Ripppah! He's like the ONLY character that will tell Stefan like it really is. His whole speech to him about memorializing his kills on the wall was classic and Stefan thought about it for like one second and NOT in the vein of, Damn I really am an evil killing machine just like Klaus, aren't I? No, it was more like maybe Klaus isn't so bad after all. He's not worse than us (putting himself in the same category as Caroline even who hasn't killed much at all). Good Lord! He totally missed the damn point!
