I'm sorry... I was open at first but the idea of them makes me want to now! Let me say why... First Caroline has been so annoying this season. It's like really who are you? Where did that girl go that I loved in season 1 and into season 2? And Klaus is a coward. I'm sorry to Klaus fans but he drowned Carol Lockwood. Now he can go be all sad and lonely and paint snowflakes. So since their characters are flawed to me this season it's just the thought of Caroline giving him a chance after any chance she gets to open her mouth about DE. It's just annoying! If they put them together to make her see how Elena could fall for Damon is stupid and annoying! Please don't. I don't want her to get perspective about DE and Elena's feelings because she fell in love with the worst VAMPIRE in the history of Vampires... I mean come the F on! Damon is not nearly Not even close as horrible as Klaus. I mean he hasn't even killed as many innocent people as some vampires on the show (cough). They are all evil and they all do horrible things. I mean they are vampires but come on... Klaus is supposed to give her perspective on Elena's feelings for Damon. Yeah some might say it's just a way for her to realize that yes you cant help who you fall for but I'd rather live without the Caroline support or perspective because she fell for the guy who turned and then killed Jenna and doesn't even flipping care. Or the guy who uses Elena as a blood bag! AND don't come on here and name all the bad stuff Damon did because Damon is NOT THE BIG BAD! He was not brought on the show for us to hate/some love and fear! He was not supposed to be the guy who complicates their very existence. Klaus is the thing they all were supposed to fear! Why is the BIG EVIL of season 2 and 3 being used as perspective on Elena's feelings for Damon? Klaus please go find a big bad vampire b*tch who enjoys your power and creating hybrids then torturing/murdering innocent middle aged women. Leave Caroline alone for Stefan please! And this is an anti thread. I didn't put it in the debate thread but feel free to. I can debate this all day!

Yeah, kind of agree with this but still feel a but hypocritical because if Damon can change maybe Klaus can? But we certainly haven't been seeing that have we? And frankly, I like Klaus, the big bad, and I don't want him to change. This show needs a big bad that doesn't change, but is still ever present in their midst, at least for now. The Christmas music while he's drowning Carol was just serial killeresque freaky and Klaus used to make me shiver with how truly dark I thought he was. So now he's back and he should have never left.

Klaus can change but while he's changing he cant kill a harmless middle aged women by drowning her in the town fountain. LOL
Klaus can change. Doesn't mean Care needs perspective from Klaus. He isn't comparable to Damon. Not even close!

I know he isn't. He is very very dark. He can pretend to be something else but he never really changes. We got a little window into his soul and what he is all about when he talked to Stefan about holding a life in his hands and snuffing it out, basically. What he did to Carol was cruel. He could have easily just snapped her neck and made it painless and quick but he chose to make her suffer for something she had no control over and the woman actually liked Klaus. That was just cruel.

Caroline better be real careful not to fly too close to that flame. It's like he said, she's lovely but if she doesn't shut up he'd snap her neck. Klaus has no concept of real love, just convenience and who can do for him what he wants done.

I don't think JP ever really meant any comparison to DE, really more like the anti-comparison so we could see what a real bad situation would look like and some people would stop with their anti-DE rhetoric.

Well everyone seems to think its going to make Caroline smarten up or something to DE. I just don't want them used for my perfect DE journey!
I still think to kill carol was cowardly and lame. Killing someone is cruel it was the fact he did it... Yes I think it was lame he drowned her. It was kinda safe to be honest for my taste at least. To even kill her was just stupid. She was defenseless.
But I'm not anti for that. I just don't like this couple. Feels soooooo forced and hypocritical!

There is no comparison in my mind. These couples are so completely different.

Here's an idea, Caroline in her need to comfort the perfect Salvatore brother should open her legs and complicate things further. What do you say? Let's just completely mess this thing up!

Klaus killed Carol to get back at Tyler, that is why he made her suffer, to get to Tyler. I don't think holding Klaus to any standard is a good idea because he doesn't have any. Which makes him a good bad guy. I don't really care one way or the other whether he and Caroline hook up, she really is getting on my nerves and he seems onto her so whatever...at this point they deserve each other. I just don't know what is going on with Caroline that is making her such a B.

To be honest, Klaus could have done worse if he wanted to send a message but I guess one could say he did that via the Hybrids. He was ripping out hearts and chopping heads off like it was a sport and he was a pro at it (just...masterful). The guy took on a few rabid Hybrids when he was trying to first make them as well (in the mountains when Ray got loose). So him drowning Carol...still cruel cause he could have made it quick (snap the neck), compelled her, turned her or took her as a prisoner but given that the guy was covered in blood and just ripped through 11 other supes, he could have easily done the same to Carol. Imagine the shock if Tyler found his mom in pieces?
Anyways, Caroline can go to hell. Don't care about the ass clown anymore. So done.
Back to Klaus, he has to want to change to change. I think at this point, after 1000 years, he's so polluted by his current mentality that he can't break it. He disowned his sister, has killed and boxed his family, does whatever it takes to realize having a new family that's entirely under his control, if you displease him, he makes your family/friends suffer, etc.. The guy has these nice moments but the cruelty that lies within is just hard coded at this point and is too much a part of who he is.

I think my point is being missed about Klaus and Carol... Was it cruel to kill Carol.... yes? It is cruel to kill anyone. I said that. But what is cowardly is that he CHOSE to kill Carol and then killed her by drowning her. He put a middle aged, harmless woman's head under water. It just seemed so beneath him in a sense. I mean he kills for purpose. I know he was pissed at Tyler and wanted to hurt him so he killed his mom but I'm just like really? It's a middle aged harmless woman! It just seemed so ridiculous to me.
I was on twitter with a friend last night who hates Klaus and watching him drown Carol made her despise him more. Here he has this awesome bad ass moment tearing out hearts then he goes and drowns a middle aged harmless woman. It was I guess the distinction of the two and it being so closely done in the same episode that it made us scratch our heads.
I think the part where he murdered all the hybrids I got a glimpse of Klaus...the big bad... the guy to fear and I was happy he was back. The music was awesome and creepy and it was bloody! Then he walks to Carol and put her head in water.
I was just like what??? Maybe if they had him kill her next episode I would have felt differently. I just think he didn't need to kill her. She was seriously as harmless as a child and as vulnerable too. I just didn't like how it went down.

But that was the point. That was his JNSI (I hate to make the comparison but I think it's precisely why they did it. I'm 99% sure they said, let's make Klaus do something equal to the JNSI, something to shock the audience and cause controversy). He didn't need to do it and he certainly didn't need to make her suffer dying slowly in terror either, but he did it out of his anger toward Tyler that he wanted to make HIM suffer.

Katherine's family was harmless as well but Klaus slaughtered them because of what Katherine did. Same here. The guy just doesn't care when someone turns on him. If you're not around to reap that punishment, those closest to you or that you associate with will fill in for the time being. Stefan was in hiding with the coffins? Klaus targeted the gang.
Killing the Hybrids? OK, still think you should have got them back in line but Carol? Low point of his night and probably one of his lowest on the show.
This should effectively kill any chance with Caroline though but I doubt he cares since he was being played/distracted by her. He's got no more Hybrids and the gloves are off once again. I guess it's kind of annoying because Klaus seemed 'relaxed' to a certain degree (having the Hybrids, a chance to turn Elena back human, Caroline treating him to nights out) but the gang goes and stirs the beast again. Like, if they just let him be or gave him a chance to honestly fit in (drop the Elena as a blood bag goal), would it be that bad? Yes, he's killed Jenna, had Isobel kill herself and has attempted to kill the others but they missed a chance to put this 'adversary' behind them for the time being.

Well you know me I was never open to Klaroline At that point Caroline's character has been with most of the main cast and her relationships always moved fast. I just wanted her to stick with one guy. It almost felt as if every new guy that Caroline interacted with the fans would go crazy and want her with that guy. When Matt came in people wanted him to just get over Elena and get with Caroline. That happens and then Tyler comes in with his werewolf storyline and suddenly everyone wants her with him and then Klaus comes in and heals her and now Klaroline is the new thing on the block. I'm sure if some other guy comes around and gives Caroline attention people would ship her with him as well. I never liked Forwood, or rather I was neutral towards it, but I think Tyler is the guy she needs to stick with. He's been through hell and back trying to please her and make her happy. He broke a sire bond for her. On that note I wouldn't mind if Caroline ended up with Stefan either. She needs to end up with someone that actually gives a crap about the people around her, not Klaus because their scenes or cute or they would look hot together or they're both annoying so they should be with each other. I kind of hope after Caroline gets wind of what happens to Carol and the hybrids then she doesn't give Klaus the time of day really. I don't even want to think of it as a JNSI 2.0 because we know Klaus isn't going to have people on his back or go through hell to get redeemed and earn everyone's favor. He'll get a free pass. He's not trying to change for anyone and I like him when he's terrifying and evil.
