How did I miss this thread being reactivated?
I love TO, although I didn't really care much for the pregnancy storyline and was never an avid Klaus or Elijah fan when they were on TVD. I thought they were great characters but I wasn't sure if the Original family interested me enough to follow them to another show, especially a show opening with a werewolf/hybrid miracle baby carried by Hayley, a mediocre character on TVD at best. But I gave it a try and I don't regret it. The storylines and characters dynamic are very entertaining. I can never guess what's coming and that's the beauty of it!
I don't ship any couples on this show, not really, but if I were to choose the most fascinating relationship for me, it would be Klaus and Cami. They are incredible together, whether they fight, threaten or comfort each other. Absolutely amazing dynamic. They have a connection on some weird level that is just fascinating to watch and I'm so curious to see what direction the writers have in mind for this duo.

Did the ending of the finale confuse anyone else? (Me more so since I didn't realize I had skipped episode 1x21 until I loaded up the finale and some scenes appeared 'new'. But I didn't bother going back since it takes forever to load up an episode lol)
I get that Cassie is one of the last of the harvest girls who needed revision, but who was that black guy with her? Or is that the mystery and that's the first time he's been shown?
And him calling her mother? They put the flowers on Esther's grave so for a second I thought that it was possibly Esther in her body or something but who knows.
I just thought it was very interesting that the cliffhanger was left on the harvest girl so it seems like she's going to be some trouble come next season. Plus she gives off this creepy killer girl personality haha.

I haven't watched consistently at all so did not keep up with all the witches, but that is supposedly Esther and Finn, according to interviews. JP said it was Ether but wouldn't confirm If man was Finn or Kol. (But its Finn)

And yeah the personality of the sibling would fit more to Finn, since he was the 'obedient' one when it came to his mother compared to the other siblings.

A part of me is still holding out hope that Kol can come back. If Davina can do a single ritual on her own to bring back Mikael, I'm sure there's some other crazy methodsw they can come up with to bring Kol back like how Celeste brought back those witches.
Of course I guess the next hurdle would be where Kol is since the Other Side is no longer there. But I don't think that has to be a limitation and I doubt anyone would care about the logistics of Kol's return.
I just really think we need a new dynamic with Elijah and Klaus, especially since we lost Bekah. A new perspective would shake things up a bit.

The Other Side is gone and everyone in there was either sucked into oblivion or found peace so presumably, they dissolved into darkness or light. Now, where Bonnie and Damon might have gone to is a different story and I totally believe that being the powerful with that she is, Davina could figure it out somehow. If they ever thought of doing a crossover of such TVD characters as Caroline, Elena and Stefan to TO, that would be a perfect opportunity.

Strangely that may not be the case with Kol. Unless it's flashbacks...:
Nate Buzolic Online @natebuzzonline May 14 Nate will be present at #BloodyNightCon Barcelona just on Saturday due to his #TheOriginals work commitments.

I can't find the interview right now but there was this comment from Caroline Dries that happened in late April/early May where she specifically said that even though the writers of TVD and TO share the same lunchroom, they do not follow each other's mythology so Kol could come back. (I was kind of shocked they didn't follow each other's mythology, because they likely have fans who watch both shows.)

They're more fleshed out when it comes to spells and rituals than it has ever been on TVD. The ancestors intervene and plays a bigger part of the witches and their coven. Davina brought Mikael back from the other side yet he didn't have to go through Bonnie like Markos did. I wouldn't put it past the TO writers to bring in some witch with dark magic, akin to expression or make up some totally new magic. Or even some random thing that Klaus discovers, twist the mythos any way they wanted if they truly care to bring Kol back. Esther and Finn are forshadowed to be back and not even in their own bodies at that. I feel anything is possible.

Did anyone watch the mid-season finale? What did you think? I'm bummed about Rebeka - I heard she will have her own show as Wonder Woman so I guess the actress won't be coming back to play her. I thought their plan for Ester was brilliant, and I'm not sure what to think about the Halijah scene - glad they finally got it out of their system, but I guess she just wanted closure to go back to Jackson?

I feel bad I've dropped this show. I'll be catching up when dvds are out. It was bad timing as TVD , Orginals , Flash + Arrow all started here at the same time and Flash & arrow have so many cross overs that you kinda need to see both.

Yeah it's also great to see Bekah, considering the actor stated how she didn't expect to be playing her for so long and got a smaller role as a resort. It's a shame though because Klaus/Elijah dynamic isn't the same without Bekah and I loved how Klaus was so attached/jealous when it came to his sister. I like watching complicated/messed up dynamics lol. I guess the new body switch is just a way to have Bekah sort of back given the situation of the actor wanting to move on from the role.

I only finally caught up recently. I agree about Ester, that was brilliant. I was getting kind of sick of her all powerfulness as a witch. It sort of made the struggle against her impossible, and thus not really fun. As much as I wish all the original cast could play their Original Family roles, I am glad that they are finding ways to bring all the siblings back into the story. Because it's more interesting with all of them. And it was weird having the show called The Originals, when there were only 3 of them (and then only 2 of them!). So I hope this new girl playing Rebekah is good. I'm feeling a little cold towards the Halijah stuff this season. Maybe it will be good to have a break from it and let her explore her relationship with Jackson. I don't know lol. Meanwhile, I'm annoyed with Kol. I was hoping we could get a more united Original family, and I like Kol. But now he's being a d*ck, and that's disappointing. I will say I am looking forward to seeing where they take this in the second half of the year though!

This has nothing to do with the actual episode of the Originals perse but it's funny how I had a dream about TO last night (fitting since that was the last thing I watched before heading to bed haha).
I just remember Hayley's baby being put in a car seat and then me getting in the car beside the baby and Klaus in the driver seat with Hayley coming up to the passenger seat all, 'What are we going to do about the werewolves?'
'Well we're going to kill them of course!' Klaus says and Hayley responds with this shrug and look of disapproval, 'We can't just kill them.'
What's weird is like I had a laptop and I guess I was browsing forums or something lol and then I responded, 'Looks like some people were already thinking about killing them.'
Then Klaus smiles and was like, 'See, someone else was already planning to do it and I'm assuming they're idiots and incapable.'
'And assuming the werewolves will come after us anyways once they're done with those guys,' I state and then Klaus just sort of points at me with a smile.
Then Hayley just sighs and gets in the car. Then the next scene sort of 'skips'. I'd say it'd did the whole black out commercial thing and come back lol. Cause then the three of us were just on the road, walking to where the wolves would be and Klaus was throwing me and Hayley some bottles of mist or something which Klaus was saying would protect us from the werewolf bite lol.
I didn't get to the 'battle' part that though! I woke up! Though that was such a random dream haha. And seems like me and Klaus would get along apparently lol.
