Vampire Diaries has taken the world by storm, and now there is even more to come in spin-off series The Originals. The series will delve into the past of the first original vampires, who have been seen in earlierepisodes of Vampire Diaries. The spin-off series is set to look into the lives of the original vampires, including Klaus who has been a main character throughout the series. Klaus, played by Joseph Morgan, returns to New Orleans to the town he helped build years ago, but runs into the diabolical Marcel. The Originals will first appear on our screens through a 'back door pilot' on Vampire Diaries. Scheduled to air on April 25th, a Vampire Diaries episode will introduce the storyline for this spin-off series, which will air soon after. It has recently been confirmed that Daniella Pineda will be joining the cast of The Originals in a major role. Deadline has reported that the Homeland actress will be a series regular on the spin-off. She will be playing Sophie, a witch who aims to start a revolution.

Silenced? So the Spirits again and I guess Sophie is doing something 'expression-esque' where the Spirits have no power over their practicing.

EXCLUSIVE: Charles Michael Davis ( The Game) is set to co-star opposite The Vampire Diaries‘ Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies and Phoebe Tonkin in the potential spinoff The Originals, which will be introduced in the April 25 episode of the CW drama. Written by TVD co-creator/executive producer Julie Plec, The Originals centers on the Original family of vampires, as Klaus (Morgan) returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans — a town he helped build centuries ago — and is reunited with his diabolical former protégé Marcel (Davis). Wicked, wild and charismatic, Marcel is a former kicked-around street rat who now calls the shots in the supernatural playground of New Orleans. As a modern-day vampire, he’s fierce and bold, able to accomplish as much with his charm as he is with his strength. Elijah (Gillies), intent on helping his self-destructive brother find redemption, must side with Marcel’s enemies in order to keep Klaus in line. Like Morgan and Gillies, Tonkin also is reprising her role from TVD. Davis joins fellow Daniella Pineda, who also has been cast in Originals as a regular. Davis, repped by Peter Strain & Associates and Mary Erickson, is filming a recurring role on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and also recurred on ABC Family’s Switched At Birth.

 The Vampire Diaries' potential spinoff has added a young witch to its ranks.
Prison Break actress Danielle Campbell has been tapped to join the CW's back-door pilotThe Originals, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Campbell, who also costarred in the feature Prom, will play Davina, a young and troubled witch who has been sheltered by protective caregivers. Her innocence about the way the world works makes her equal parts wondrous and dangerous. She's delicate and ethereal but not without her own demons. |

Check their new poster out. Nice! LOL I'm sorry but I think this looks SO trashy. It looks like a poster for a show about Las Vegas playboys or something. And what is with Elijah smiling wistfully off into the distance? Elijah doesn't smile wistfully. He stares intently. I hope this is a fake. |

LOL! What is this? Klaus looks sexy and intriguing, Bex looks kinda sad and unnerved and Elijah is smiling into the distance like the good uncle from the neighborhood! But I have to admit they all have nice hair     This is for Elijah  And WTH is Klaus wearing a cross, a vampire and a cross!!! |

Yeah I'm thinking it's fanart now because it's not showing up anywhere else. I would think if it was official it would be making the rounds. I hadn't really noticed they all look sort of out of it.  |
