I hope with JP running it that it doesn't turn into more of the same really. If TO is interesting enough I'll watch it, but TVD is enough for me in the romance/triangle department so if TO turns into that, too, ugh, not interested. I'm already not real excited by reading about a Klaus redemption thing. I like him the way he is, slicing heads off with graduation caps. That was very Elijah-ish. I like the idea of a more adult theme to TO as well as I am well out of the teenage years and like a more grown up theme to TV shows. So we'll see if JP can pull off keeping it familiar yet different at the same time. It should be interesting.

Agreed. We can leave the teen stuff behind with TO and I want to see what JP and Co. can crank out without the high school drama backdrop and a triangle in the way.

Im still VERY, VERY turned off by the Hayley miracle pregnancy plot device! It was basically the cheapest plot device ever to start this series that I could ever imagine.
Im sure theyll have to do a flashback to that awful and chemistry-less Hayley/Klaus sex scene that came out of nowhere.

Im still VERY, VERY turned off by the Hayley miracle pregnancy plot device! It was basically the cheapest plot device ever to start this series that I could ever imagine. Im sure theyll have to do a flashback to that awful and chemistry-less Hayley/Klaus sex scene that came out of nowhere. Yeah, me too. Klaus being a baby Daddy, especially with someone like Hayley, a one night stand, is a major turn off. His reaction to the whole thing was rather ugly, too, not that I'd expect more from Klaus but I guess some people who see him as a romantic figure might. No flashbacks, please! That was like watching two pieces of wood rub together...ugh...hideous. |

They could've done better than the pregnancy storyline. At least they didn't make Klaus pull a bouquet of roses out of his butt to give to Hayley when he found out and vow to be Hayley's man forever..  |

Though the actor that plays Marcel always seems to me like he's overly happy.. it looks like he's going to burst out laughing or something. I guess being "king" of a town would that effect on a person.

I love this series. I love how over here (uk) TVD airs 9 til 10 on 1tv tuesdays and The originals 10 till 11 Tuesday on SyFy (HATE that spelling)so 2 hours of vampire goodness on the same day! I would compare TVD to Buffy and The Originals to Angel. What I mean is they are both equally good but for very different reasons. Like Buffy TVD feels more of the romance/teen show but it does what it does well and feels great to watch. Like Angel The Originals feels darker and more mature while keeping some things that made TVD good. BOTH are equally enjoyable. The Originals also gave me my most "Holy ****" moment. in this : That fight alone shows why this show is so damn great. The vampire diaries it was nothing to see a werewolf , a vampire , an original and a witch at the same bar. The originals however has such a great hierarchy of Originals > vampires > witches > werewolves. It's great and the various factions going to war. As we see in that clip too the originals does a great job of making you think the originals can be beat. I'll admit in that fight when they had Klaus chained up I thought "  Noooo klaus is beaten!" then his eyes changed and not to sound like a meme or bad 70's movie but I thought "s*** just got real" I love Klaus is having a kid and while i mentioned Angel, Angel been a daddy I could see. klaus been a daddy i'm thinking "It'll either save him and help redeem him or he's going to mess that kid up" LOL though I just saw the episode where rebekah left. I hope she comes back as rebekah is awesome! I admit my 3 favourite orginals all made it to the show (the rest i was never big on, I know I know everyone loves kol but to me he was just Australian Damon light. ) So hopping she comes back. I will also say on TVD I never cared about Hayley. Did not hate her just did not care. On the originals she is awesome. I'm surprised by the lack of The originals talk on here as i thought it'd be as popular as TVD. Though I have to wonder. TVD this season is trying to stop magic , The originals are almost at war with witches. Will one effect the other? as what happens on TVD is world changing I would think Klaus would not want to be human. I just love a good crossover possibility lol |

We've been exploring that a bit on the DE spoiler page. The feeling I'm having is that they will contain the TVD storyline to Mystic Falls. Otherwise, from the point of view of the Original's storyline and their characters, the "undoing witch magic" thing would totally come out of nowhere. It would be a really weird way to end the Original's season, to just suddenly throw in this totally unrelated to anything they've been doing storyline. So that's why I think the TVD plight will be limited to Mystic Falls.
But moving on, I like the Original's too. It started off kind of meh, but I think it has gotten better. It's very different from TVD, almost too different (some storyline inconsistencies have been bothering me lol). But it's definitely interesting, and it has a lot of potential. I'll admit I was hoping for more flashback episodes than they've done so far. I wanted it to be like Highlander but with vampires lol. The Mikaelsons have been alive for over 1000 years! There's so much they could do with flashbacks, so many stories to tell, so many periods of history to cover. I hope they do more of that in the future. But the main plot is interesting enough to keep me going. Although I'm not a big fan of the female leads in this show. And now that Rebekah is gone there are even less interesting women. Haley is growing on me, but I don't love her. Sophie was interesting, but she's dead. And I go back and forth about Cami. But since it's the first season, they all have room to develop, so I'm still optimistic.

Good point. Although coming out of no where could work. Like say the witches are finally going to kill Klaus and .... power gone. They can all wonder what happened and all we need is a scene or two of say Tyler showing up because now Klaus is human and not linked he can put him down with a normal gun something. Leading to klaus going to fix the stuff in Mystic falls. That was off the top of my head. It's not unheard of in closely linked spin-offs. I mentioned buffy and angel and they did similar we had : 1) Faith showing up in Angel season 1 trying to kill everyone as (when she woke up)a result of Buffy season 4. 2) Angel season 4 willow showed up and got faith. Faith showed up in Buffy season 7 and it wasn't odd she was now good as they knew fans saw both 3) Spike coming back in Angel season 5 thanks to the necklace (which was in angel 4 then buffy 7 and was the plot device for closing the hell mouth) plus more. I think it's safe bet that 90% of TVD fans watch The originals and the other way too. So a clever well thought effect from one show to the other would be great (I know clever and well thought out from the tvd writers is a little far fetched based on this season  ) at least that's me. |

In case the news hasn't gotten around here yet, Rebekah's character 'left' upon Claire Holt's request as she stated that she didn't expect to be playing Rebekah that long and wanted to do other things. I read that she'll be a 'guest' star so she's not completely gone but we won't be seeing so much of her.
I really did like the dynamic of Klaus, Elijah, and Bekah though. It feels a bit off now that she's gone but what can you do.
And I second the bit on Hayley, I didn't too much care for her in TVD but she's one of my favs now. I also like Camille's character. I feel like those two get a lot of hate from some fans, especially Klarolines who think they're getting in the way of the ship or something.
I don't think I'd even be keeping up with the Originals if it wasn't for the baby storyline, I just really wanted to see how that would play out, it's just such an interesting concept despite how much people think it's a stupid storyline lol. I want to see how they'll handle this baby and I'd pay a million bucks to see Klaus rocking a baby back in forth in his hands.
Though I do feel like Originals is a breath of fresh air that I can just sit and watch and not get worked up over ships or the writing and stuff and I'm pretty much open to anything they throw at me pairing wise since I really don't care lol

Okay I was very surprised to hear from Klaus' mouth that he called a Bennett witch and is all in the know about the Other Side disintegrating.
They even managed to integrate it more into the story with Klaus' father Mikael and having him torment the brothers and attack Hayley and the baby.
Though Klaus didn't talk about Travelers/Markos and stuff and nothing else was mentioned this episode on the matter so I guess he's not aware of the possibility that Magic could be gone forever.
I still think something will happen in TVD that either restricts this to Mystic Falls or somehow the gang manages to stop the ritual. Otherwise this upcoming new development with Mikael and Davina and the possibility of him coming back to life will be a moot plot.
Mikael: What happened? It looked like the spell was working.
Davina: I don't know. Somehow I just lost all contact to my magic.

Well then again Mikael wouldn't be able to say that anyways since the Other Side would have fallen at that point. Well then that's another thing, while they're on the same number, episode wise. The Originals airs Tuesday and TVD Thursday. So if TO was to 'sync' up with what's happening in TVD, it'd be a huge spoiler in itself. So I don't know how that's going to play out.
