Although, I keep up with all things Ian, I only ever have to worry about one aspect of his life and that is fans negative reations to any woman that enters into his life based on their choices or critera, and I have good reason to worry, because on my twitter timeline I have observed that the newest real life ship the Somereeds are starting to sound like a version 2 of Nians. They have moved on, but now it is almost like Sommereed has become for them the new Nian, which of course brings them into conflict with the hard core Nians who refuse to move on.
Some of the Somerreeds fans are now talking about marriage and babies in much the same fashion that the Nian fanbase used to do back in the day when Ian and Nina were dating. For one it is much too soon and for another, just as we look at the positives in all relationships we should also prepare ourselves for the negatives in relationshps (i.e, they don't work out). What Ian stated in an interveiw is right in regards to relationships, some people come into your life for a time and then leave. Basicialy, what he was trying to convey was that all relationships have time limits and when they are reached we should move on. I believe Ian thought what he had with Nina was for the long haul but it didn't work out that way. I'm sure that he has had other relationships after the break up. But, Nikki has been the more upfront and open relationship he has had so far, so I'm not worried about Ian because he is happy with all things in his life right now, from his foundation to TVD and Nikki.
My worry is Somereeds, if things do not work out between Ian and Nikki (relationship duration unknown, since no one can predict the outcome of any relationship) and they go their seperate ways, will Ian be allowed to move on? can Somereeds move on or will they too become like the Nians?
I was happy when Ian was with Nina, but when it was confirmed that they had broken up I moved on, I am also prepared to do the same if things do not work out with Ian and Nikki, I will move on. Because, like I've repeated like a mantra is the fact it is Ian's happiness that is important, and the one underlaying problem is some fans inability to move on if things do now work out. It is inevitable if things do not work out between Ian and Nikki that he will move on, which means a new relationship, a new lady. In the event that this does happen, does it have to mean the new lady in his life has to be subjected to such negativity, because, certain fans do not know how to move on......
I support Ian 100% in any relationship that he enters into, that means I support his choices, and do not hate on his girlfriends in the fashion the Nians did when they thought he was with Ana, and then with Alexis Knapp, and now with Nikki Reed.

I totally agree with what you said. I think we have all variety of Somereed supporters. Some of them simply hate Nina so Nikki gave them a way to sort of rub it in Nina fans faces. I've seen it. I don't agree with it. Ian (and also us) do not have any control over these fans and what their motivations are or how far their obsessions might go. In this last day I have witnessed a big bullying session from one of the biggest Nian fan accounts (and friends) toward one of the largest Somereed fan accounts and the subsequent suspension of three large Nian accounts (so far). Then there was an outcry from a whole lot of other Nian accounts who seemed to ignore the fact that these accounts were bullying the girl for her appearance and that's what got them banned. In other words, they went too far and deserved to be suspended. I am very disappointed in this fandom and those people who can't see what they are doing and how wrong it is. These are the same people behind the bullying of Nikki and I'm glad they finally got suspended for bullying someone. Will they stop now? They've already stated they will get revenge via another user's account they 'borrowed', so no, they've learned nothing from this, and if they call themselves Ian fans then they have no clue what he stands for day in and day out. But the biggest offender is an Ian hater, not a fan, and some of Ian's fans defended her. I had to take a break from Twitter last night because I was so disgusted with these people. I love DE, but I don't want to be associated with the likes of these bullies nor anyone who would support their bullying tactics. It's sickening and going WAY too far with their Nina/Nian obsession. I can't even fathom why someone would want to put all that effort into hate instead of loving and enjoying what they enjoy about these actors, whether it is Ian or Nina. I don't get it. They took a wrong turn somewhere. The worst part for me is that some were people I followed for years and subsequently along the way unfollowed for their anti Ian posts. When TVD comes back it's only going to get worse because a lot of Somereeds are NOT DE fans. There is no solidarity anymore in the fandom. We have DEs who are Nians, Nina supports and Ian haters, Ian supporters and Nina haters and everywhere in between now. I never imagined it would get this bad over Nian breaking up but it only keeps getting worse.

Yes, unfortuately I also witnessed the cyber bullying going on, because one of the accounts I followed was one of the people these two main bullies were tarketting. But interestingly enough, one of the accounts that got suspended was because they stole personl photos from this person without their permission, and she reported it. Which is why they got suspended. I'm on twitter now and watching the drama as it unfolds as other Nians gather ranks in protest.

I am even more disgusted with this fandom today. The threats continue toward all Somereeds in general, threats of more bullying and suspensions being perpetrated on Somereeds as revenge. The Nians hope to bully them into silence but I have something to say about that, and I hope more people listen to this very wise person on twitter and speak up about it as well. Cyber bullying and racists should not be tolerated full stop. Joseph Morgan and Pershia White have been subjected to the worst kind of bullying by Karoline fans, Pershia from the moment it was discovered she was dating JoMo to present. Fans need to separate fact from fiction. Pershia is a real life human being with feelings, and Caroline is a fictional character.
Kat also gets hated on, just because of her closeness to Ian, and now because of them doing the Bamon storyline, so our fandoms are quickly carving out a very nasty image to the world who have to witness these displays of bullying on the Social Media and forums....
Everyone who doesn't like what is going on should be reporting these bullies and getting them suspended, not aiding and abetting them.

Ian and Nikki have been spending a lot of time at Serenbe lately, where he was spotted by a fan and the next weekend he brought the dogs there and Nikki's parents joined them this past weekend. Now there is speculation that he might be buying a home there, perhaps a mini-farm for their pets which are growing in number especially with Nikki's penchant for fostering pets until they find their forever home. So, it sure seems like things are getting serious with these two especially if these speculations are correct and they are buying something so they can be together out there.

I just have to post this here because it sure has seemed to me that there have been some stand ins for some of their scenes 'together' which really are few and far between and even though Nina's reps denied this rumor how can we explain all the stand-ins? They didn't use so many before. I just hope that it doesn't effect the storyline of the show if even a little bit of it is true:

When I was watching that scene I was wondering about the whole stand-in issue, thinking if there ever were a time for one during an intimate scene, this could be it. All the hair everywhere, you can't see her. Gosh I hope the rumors aren't true and settle down because things like that do have an effect on where they take the show. The nasty ones seem to be more Nina fans and they say junk about Ian as well now...really rotten fair weather fans if you ask me! Most Ian fans are OK with Nikki. There's a few that are just neutral about it, but he's gotten hate for daring to say wonderful things about another woman other than Nina and if they were truly Ian fans they wouldn't attack him for it.
