OK so I have a theory and DUH moment about the series. Maybe Claire gets pregnant AGAIN and we aren't seeing the first pregnancy when she goes back to Frank eventually. I think it was just the timing of how they did that which made me think it was the same pregnancy. That or things go horribly wrong and she finds a way to travel BACK in time (in the future...now that's hella confusing but I watch The Flash so natch I can comprehend such things! At least we aren't dealing with Earth 2...LOL) to fix how she messed up the past by being there. I guess we will see...

Why do they look so real? I mean that kind of tease of a kiss usually only works when you are really romantically involved ya know?

Sorry I've been so MIA guys, my work computer is really temperamental these days. Sometimes it lets me on and sometimes it doesn't, and its really the only time I have to come on here :-(
But anyways, so it's all over now, most of the threads have come together and mysteries solved. I'm dying to know what everyone thought about how it all ended?? Tell me!! haha

That was the most amazing finale, am I right? I loved every minute of it and at the end I was screaming, "Go Claire, go!" At my TV. Loved it so much! I was so happy to hear her declare Jamie the 'love of her life' despite Frank being a good guy, according to Brianna. She was lucky enough to have two good men in her life but I am just like her, good, kind, decent, gentle men do not bring out the fire in you like a feisty one does. Jamie lives his life to the fullest. He is fearless and he loves with his whole heart. Frank seems so reserved and measured in comparison. Sure he's a good guy, but...snoooore. Like you can't fault him, right, but he just doesn't do it for me and apparently not for Claire either.
I have to say I wasn't terribly impressed with the acting of "Brianna." I think they could have done better with an actress. She might fit the part but her acting was not believable to me. She seemed to be a very inexperienced actress.

Very tricky how they did that and kept us guessing.

Yeah I think you're right about the actress being inexperienced. I don't think she has done much till now. I hope that as things continue she will find her footing in the character.
And yeah, wow! Has there ever been a love so real and amazing as Jamie and Claire?? I mean, I love Delena and always will, but Jamie and Claire ... there's just so much in that love story that most love stories always seem afraid to tell. Like the parts where they are both happy and madly in love and passionate, and we are all rooting for it and it's so intense! See TV writers?? People can have an interesting passionate love story without breaking the couple up all the time!!
And yeah, Frank is a good man, but Jamie is the most amazing man ever created lol. It's no contest. I feel like life with Frank for Claire was like in the Wizard of Oz when everything is in black and white, and then she goes to Oz and everything is in color and that is life with Jamie. God, I cannot wait for season 3!!!

Good analogy there about the Wizard of Oz. It's especially weird when her 1940's husband's face is on the villain in the 1740's! LOL When you think about it, wouldn't you NOT want to live in the 1740's if you had lived in the 1940's? Yet she was all ready to give up the comforts of modern life to spend the rest of hers with Jamie and that shows how much she loves him. I agree that this love story is amazing and thrilling and everything it should be. Delena was that as well, except for the excessive dangling of the carrot that JP went too far with, and of course, the fact that they aren't together right now either. However, Claire hasn't seen Jamie in 20 years now. We didn't have to suffer through the years apart though...LOL

Doppel, when you guessed the pregnancy correct in June, I totally cracked up. Regarding the actress who played Brianna, I agree she didn't come across as good as every other character ever on this show. Their casting has been perfect to this point (except young Lord Grey but that was a minor). However, many of the book readers were not impressed with Cait B. who plays Claire at first. She was cast last and had the least time to prepare in S1. She has embodied the role to perfection now and was up for many awards. Brianna was also cast last so hopefully she will grow into the role.

I know! and thank god for that huh?? lol But also, the reason they were separated had nothing to do with fights or misunderstanding or loss of love like they usually do in stories. 20 years apart is pretty brutal though ... especially brutal that she thought he was dead and then learns he's not! If I were her I would be completely devastated for promising Frank that she wouldn't look for Jamie. If she hadn't made that promise, she might have found out sooner and been able to get back to him sooner! It breaks my heart thinking about how much Jamie wanted to be a father and love his little girl, and he was totally cheated out of ever getting that experience. He missed her whole childhood! Now she's an adult, and spent her whole life loving another father. It's just so tragic! Ugh, I'm like tearing up just thinking about it lol.
So I read book 3 (Voyager) only once many many years ago, and I don't even remember if I finished it. So I remember a couple little things that will probably happen near the beginning of next season, but after that I'm going to be in the same boat as all the non book readers and not know anything! I'm kind of excited about that haha.

Onto comparisons between Delena and Jamie/Claire, both are larger-than-life loves. However, Jamie/Claire win hands down. Julie Plec is no Diana Gabaldon--not even close. Some book fans of Outlander complain when things change from the book or are omitted. This year they have complained that there was not enough intimacy between Jamie and Claire. I just shake my head and want to scream at them about how good they have it. At least Claire never says Frank was the perfect boyfriend.

It was just so satisfying to hear her call Jamie the love of her life. I didn't realize how shafted we really got by TVD. I mean I did, but I didn't. What we did get (when it was good) was awesome but all the 'keep away' games just made me grow tired of the entire thing so that by the time DE had their moments I didn't enjoy them as much as I would have had they happened earlier in the series and with more finality. It took too long! I remember saying that when Elena picked Stefan at the end of season 3, that the series jumped the shark at that point and I still believe that is when it all started to fall apart. Besides losing about a third of the DE fans at that time, the rest of us were bitter about it and just hanging on for the good stuff we could only hope was going to happen. So yeah, in that regard, this love story is much less aggravating to watch and it's no contest for Jamie. I especially liked how he said to tell Frank he hated him...LOL But it was sad to see that tear in his eye that only appeared after she was turned away from him...such awesome writing and directing there.

Oh my god, that whole goodbye scene just destroyed me! I was sobbing. Jamie trying so hard to be strong, telling her to tell Frank that he's grateful, but also that he hates him to the very marrow of his bones lol. And oh god, when he was talking about what he's say to god after he died, about all the terrible things he had done, but at least there was one good thing: "Lord, you gave me a rare woman. And God, I loved her well." *sobbing face* I can't even think about it without crying lol. Wow, just wow. And yeah, the tears coming down his cheeks as soon as she turned away, he held back as long as he could. So heartbreaking!! Can we get to next season now please?? lol

I finally JUST finished the season (I had 2 more episodes to watch forever) and I am sobbing!!! The finale was soooo good! Their love is just so emotional and real it's amazing how they can portray those feelings to us on screen. You guys were comparing it to Delena and JPs writing - she needs to take a page, you can write a couple and still inject a little strife but not have them break up every 5 seconds and still make them interesting and epic. I think JP thinks she's writing for 12-year-olds.
I died at the end when we find out Jamie is still alive - I was like "Go get your man Claire!" Lol.
Did anyone else feel - during the goodbye scene - that they wanted to grab Jamie and not let him go, for her? So heart wrenching, the whole thing!

All of it is so heartbreaking!! Both of them got so cheated, missing out on 20 years they could have been together! and Jamie didn't get to see his baby girl grow up! So terrible *sobbing face*.
Man I seriously can't wait for next season. Also at this point I have not read any of the other books, so I will be with you all on not knowing what's going to happen. Well for the most part anyways. So that's exciting for me! :-)
