I'm sorry I've read this a lot when it comes to Stefan losing everything. What did he lose? The two most important people in his life did everything they could to try and help him and refused to turn their back on him. The only thing Stefan lost was his humanity and that was only for a few months not even the ten year agreement he made. If he wanted that back he could work to get it. Revenge is not the answer... and I doubt it will end well for him. The show would be a hypocrite if Stefan's big revenge scheme didn't blow up in his face and cause many to get hurt or even die in the process. Heck that's already happened in the first episode back. He really did lose the life he was living. Everything he had built for himself over the years is gone. Also, he did lose Elena. He couldn't keep both of them safe while with Klaus, and try to keep Elena on his side. There was no way. His humanity is a big deal to him. He did lose a lot. The only thing Stefan lost briefly was his humanity and whatever that entails. Still I don't think it's ANYTHING compared to what he still stands to lose. His brother being the most important thing, and Elena being the person who never gave up on him. He's gambling with the lives of his loved ones by chance that Klaus is bluffing. What if he's not? He can always get his humanity back if he works hard enough for it, but if Damon and Elena die, they die permanently and then he will really have lost EVERYTHING.

Well I feel even stronger about this subject after tonight's episode!
I don't know how anyone can defend him and be pissed at Elena right now. Wow that girl went through HELL! My heart broke for her! I balled.
I don't even know who Stefan is anymore. I don't think even Stefan knows who he is anymore.
I'm just disgusted!

I have read all of these posts. Stefan did all of this to protect Elena, Damon and the others. And about the kiss, one thing you don't do that to your brother!!!!!!!

So many point made to refute this!! Triangle show about two brothers who fall in love with the same girl. Elena does not belong to Stefan! Both brothers were meant to meet her, fall in love with her and protect her! The normal rules that apply to brothers kinda don't apply to these supernatural brothers! Hence Kat!

Kind of why I don't get his drive to get at Klaus so badly while endangering his Brother, ex-Girlfriend, and others that do care about him (or did; Elena can make a strong case not to after last night's episode). Stefan loses his humanity on a regular basis as the show has pointed out. He falls off the wagon, goes on his little rampages, and eventually gets back on track and has his humanity once again. The only thing new this time around was that he did it willingly to save Damon's life. The only reasoning I can come up with off the top of my head is that Klaus is always going to be that constant so while he's in the state of mind to be the 'bigger villain', he'll try his damnedest to kill Klaus at whatever cost to those loved ones and then repair the damage when Klaus is out of the picture and his humanity comes back.

Between him wanting to kill the Hybrids and just being bat s*** crazy...wow. I didn't care for 'good' Stefan but this Ripper, this is where it's at. "Off the wagon" is an understatement for what we saw last night. He's "Off the wagon, over the cliff, down the river and down a waterfall into the unknown". The man is just out there when he's without his humanity and Damon is really the only thing that he cares for it seems in this state of mind. For him to do what he did to Elena (taking her to a bridge her parents died off of and attempting to do the same to her to turn her into a Vampire) shows how far he's willing to go and how he's ready to start burning bridges (is this a pun?) with those he met when he first came to town.

Stefan has had many funny lines this season, and more than once he did something I found humorous... however, in this last episode.. I can't think of one instance that comes to mind that I really found him funny. Idk, maybe I need to re-watch because I can only seem to remember him being a GRADE A douche.

Unique sense of humor over here. None of the Elena stuff he pulled, but mostly the Hybrid stuff and everyone talking about him (Damon saying he's got a dimmer switch and the sort). I just found it funny for instance where he goes to the Council/Founders Meeting and casually picking up a knife to wait for a Hybrid upstairs, etc.. Once you got to the end of the episode, you saw how far gone he was. 'Kidnapping' Elena, throwing her phone out the window, scaring her into thinking she's about to go over the bridge her parents died on, turning into a Vampire, and then just leaving her there in the end. All this terrorizing to get Klaus to get his Hybrids out of town. I know others are involved in the plan to kill Klaus but Stefan really comes off as that 'radical' who you question if you really want even helping in your cause. On another matter, can people really call Damon on force feeding Elena his blood anymore when Stefan did the same thing last night and threatened to kill her?

Maybe you forgot about Katherine or was that ALL Damon's fault, too? Hmmm...might need to move any answer you have to the debate forum but we'll see.

Damon did it so he wouldn't have to live without someone he loved because a sacrifice she was walking into would kill her for good.
Stefan fed her his blood to "make it real" and cause fear in her so Klaus would know he wasn't playing. He had to make Klaus believe it so he ultimately force fed her and used her!
But since it's for the greater good to kill Klaus who cares right? Who cares if Elena was mentally abused in that moment!
Damon was someone she cared about as a friend trying to protect her at that point.
Stefan was the man she loved and had a relationship with!
NO ONE better EVER call Damon an A-hole for what he did and justify Stefan's actions.
