Did anyone watch this tonight?
I thought it was pretty good. I don't exactly know what is going on but there's a ton of mysteries being set up.
I know nothing about the Green Arrow comic wise so this is all new to me.
It seems promising so far.

Liked it. I have a somewhat limited DC experience compared to my Marvel experiences though so while some things will trigger the comic geek in me, just as much, maybe more, will be new to me. Action is really well done.
I know they're supposed to be bringing in other characters (Black Canary, Deathstroke off the top of my head; you saw Deathstrokes mask in tonight's episode) just not sure in what capacity some of them will be. I'm surprised that they set 'Speedy' (Green Arrow's sidekick) as Oliver's sister in this but she's kind of set up from what little we've seen to follow a similar path to the Roy Harper version (while being female like the 2nd user). Roy Harper was a drug addict.
His father killed himself and the other survivor while leaving a list of the big criminals in Starling City. His mother is also up to something, wanting to know what he knows and so is his best friend. He's got to stay on his toes, even with his family.

Huntress seems to be making an appearance too. Just looked at the Wiki page and Kelly Hu is going to have a role. Sure gets around with minor/guest roles.
As for the action, most of the characters mentioned are in the ball park. Good at hand-to-hand combat so I expect great things for fights. Regular henchmen should provide just enough action as well since we saw Oliver knock himself out just fighting the last guy. He's only human.
Spending 5 years on an island though? By yourself? WHOO! The conversations one could have with oneself.

Like Tom Hanks in Castaway talking to coconuts. I found it funny they mentioned Lost and said they all died....they think...yeah that was about my reaction, too. Not sure what the hell really happened.

I just realized why he looked familiar. He was the werewolf who tortured Caroline.

Had to remember that he's had 5 years to master the bow on an island all by himself to keep him alive. Tennis balls are nothing compared to a moving meal. I guess we'll get a flashback to see what exactly made him decide on a bow. Might have to watch the pilot again but he used a manufactured bow on the island, didn't he? Not a handmade one (that he made from what he could find)? I guess he found some stuff from the ship and the bow was there and was the only viable weapon/tool he could find and it was survive or die with learning it.

True, but I was still impressed. I very curious about his training on the island. All I have to go on is Cast Away and Tom Hanks didn't turn to a bow and arrow.
