I agree he has always hated it but I feel season 5 + 6 when everyone blamed him for Elena and Damon threatened him with the "in what world are you the one to live" I understand why and i'm not "hating on damon" for it but to Matt it felt like the straw that broke the caramel's back. As he whent from not liking them and still tolerating to a degree to full hatred. Which I like. As for tylers "constantly had periods where he'd disappear for five episodes on end without a mention." He has sixth ranger syndrome. It's a serious medical condition that effects badd ass characters with the potential to out shine the heroes but still joins them later. It's hard condition that I feel needs a donation drive But yes don't forget the fact Tyler sides with the villains or people against the main group ALOT. Almost reaching Starscream levels of Betray rejoin betrain rejoin LOL

Ugh...never liked Tyler. There's just something about him that I could never get past so it doesn't bother me that he will be gone.

It's hard condition that I feel needs a donation drive But yes don't forget the fact Tyler sides with the villains or people against the main group ALOT. Almost reaching Starscream levels of Betray rejoin betrain rejoin LOL Yeah though that was season 4 though at the beginning of Elena's transition into a vampire. And Damon was mad of course since he knew Elena never wanted to be a vampire. Though obviously hard feelings wore off after the initial episode since Damon/Matt team up to get Elena's humanity back on by the end of that season.
Though this season with the introduction of Tripp. Since Tripp was against vampires and was actively killing them and he was beginning to sway Matt with his talk about his friends being vampires and are capable of all this blah blah. Then he witnesses Enzo kill Tripp, which had Matt shook up and thus him 'contemplating' what Tripp said, though I think the real breaking point is when Enzo kills the 'fake Sarah' I forgot her name lol. As Enzo was counting down to kill her, Matt said that he'd swear he'd kill Enzo and he did anyways so Matt actively goes out of his way to try and kill Enzo with the whole shoving him into a van and running into the anti Barrier like Tripp did.
Enzo was still on the fringes on the group, he wasn't really a friend, but he wasn't an active enemy either unless you got in his way. But he's still more 'enemy' territory as far as what to expect to him compared to Damon who's a friend of the gang and Elena's boyfriend. He recently saved Matt once again.
I know Matt's attitude towards vampires was convenient to direct at Elena since it's supposed to make her feel bad for what she is and capable of and it helped to further push her to long to be human again.
Though if that wasn't a one time thing for plot convenience and the writers do have Matt keep his 'tude around the vampires. Then that anger should be more directed towards Enzo/Stefan/Caroline since they're the ones that he got caught up with in the most drama recently. Of course knowing these writers they might have him just be mad at Damon even though he just saved him cause the writers have no concept of character development and their characters live in a vacuum lol.

True that was season 4 , 4+5 bleed together in my mind Though yeah I will admit he should hate those 3 more BUT I could make a case for him hating Damon too because it makes sense as if someone killed my sibling and made out with my mother I'd kind of hold a grudge .... i'm petty that way LOL and as Matt says it's always the vampire stuff plus when Elena takes off then next season there will be the inevitable Damon Spiral and let's face it that's never good for the human characters lol and you know Matt will see. I see this pushing him to the point of all are bad. Like Damon when werewolves were a big deal he killed as it was kill or be killed and Matt is going to that place I feel. Hell I would not be surprised if matt became the main villain in season 7 with Jeremy (though I heard he's left) maybe with Tyler + Alaric as a big civil war of "who's side are you on?" Supernatural vs Humans. If done right BOTH sides would have valid cases and we should care and could be more story driven than "Doppleganger locks stefan in a box because LOLs" (i know it was more than that but damn it the silas thing was so bad....) If they did that I could see Caroline been on both sides if her mother actually lives till then if not the neutral one could be Damon as the civil war type things need one character in both camps and Damon loves Elena there is a good change to honour her he would want Jeremy her brother and Matt her friend she died for to live and we could actually see him as the voice of peace! which would be an interesting stance as everyone would expect him to lash out against the humans yet theres enough things there for him to be still be a better man because of his love DAMN IT! in my head im imagining it ...... season 7 will be worse than what I'm thinking i know it lol

Those examples you mentioned with Damon happened in early season 1 though. See here's my thing, if a character is going to hate a character from the get go from examples mentioned above, okay understandable and make sense.
What's dumb is making them hate the character, then having them eventually get over it, talk to said character like normal, interacting on friendly terms with no sign of hate, and then two seasons later suddenly hate them out of nowhere? That's just plot convenience.
And Matt hasn't even interacted with Damon all of this season or had any problems with him, so if he suddenly got on Damon's case now, it's just completely out of nowhere from how this season was going. Even more so if he's angry over something that happened seasons ago (two years or so in their timeline). Why drop it and then get mad now? He should have always been shown to be angry over it if it's an important aspect of the character.
That's just the thing I hate with the writing sometimes and you already mentioned it, the characters just being made to fit whatever scenario the writers need them to at the time. If they want angst with Delena, suddenly every single character on the show has their negative two cents on it, even though previously in the season when Damon and Elena were cuddling and kissing and repairing their relationship to what it once was, everyone's lips were sealed.
Just like with the memory plot, everyone and their second cousin had something to tell Elena about how oblivious she was to the situation, since she couldn't remember, and now everyone is going on like normal as if Elena has her full memories back.
It's just odd for plot points like that to be dropped and forgotten like that lol.

This conversation has been a little here and there, but since this is technically an anti board (right?) I'm going to rant for a min.
Cause, yeah ... these writers. I still stand by my decision to see this through to the end of the season at least to find out how they will close the chapter on DE. But at this point it really just feels like a morbid curiosity. I feel like every single one of us here could have taken the task of ending this story on ourselves and come up with 20 different ideas that were better than what they've done. And that's just the concepts. That's not even mentioning the dialog. The things these characters have been saying to each other lately are just stupid. My anger and frustration pretty much applies to just about everything since the start of season 5, but for brevity's sake, lets just take this last episode as an example lol.
First of all we have Bonnie being completely contradictory to things she JUST SAID to Damon not 2 episodes ago. So its not her business what he does with the cure huh? It's just a gift for Damon with no strings attached? So then why are you even saying one single word to him about not telling Elena? That is just terrible writing. And then she uses all his insecurities against him to force him not to give the ascendant to Lily because it could end up being an issue for her, and they are supposed to be "becoming best friends" according to JP and CD?? Do these people have any clue what real friendship even is??? Cause that was disgusting to me.
Then you have Stefan and Elena and everyone else (who sure have sometimes made some dumb decisions, but on a whole I would not have classified as complete and total morons until now) decide that its a really good idea to give a vampire with no humanity something precious and easily destroyed without any consideration of that going badly. Like really? It didn't occur to ANY of them that she might destroy that letter?? Anyone would have a brain would have given her a fake letter first to see what she did. Or at least made a copy of it. That was such bad writing it's beyond laughable.
Then you have Elena saying she wants a completely boring and vanilla life with Damon ... Any of those writers care to explain then why she even broke up with Matt? She might as well have just stayed with him and gotten married and had babies. When they found out Nina was leaving the show, lets face it, we all know that what they should have done was made the decision to end the series this season and finish the story the way it deserved. So their first mistake was NOT doing that. But then, ok, so you make the decision to keep going without her, and now they're faced with how to write her off. So the only thing they can think of is to completely change her character and make her a totally different person??? None of this completely stupid wanting to be human storyline needed to happen. None of it. Or at the very least, they could have led up to it in a way that made even a tiny bit of sense. Like have her talk about how she had not known what she wanted for her life when she was human, but she wishes she had had the chance to choose. Which would be the truth. And that maybe now that she's had some time living as a vampire that she regretted that she would never have the option of becoming a mother. That would also have made sense. But just outright saying a vanilla home and family life is what she ALWAYS WANTED??? Unbelievably bad writing.
Then of course we have the inevitable stupid Delena conversation in which Damon once again harps on the ridiculous tagline, "human you chose Stefan." GIVE ME A FRIGGEN BREAK WRITERS!!! You really have to keep beating that dead horse? Really?? First of all, you have already officially made it canon that Elena was in love with Damon by 3x01. So what is the point of continuing to bring that up? And yeah, Damon may not be aware of that particular fact, HOWEVER, there are other things he IS aware of that make that statement just plain stupid. Not the least of which is the sire bond itself. Damon is rash, and emotional, yes. But he's not a completely brain dead idiot! Why do they keep making him act like one by ignoring all the facts?? The only reason the sire bond happened was because HUMAN ELENA LOVED HIM!! They said so, officially, on the show! It's canon. Sire bond only occurs when their is real HUMAN love first. So obviously the fricken girl was in love with him as a human and he should know that!! And lastly, so yeah, in an extreme life or death moment, Elena made the conscious choice to do right by Stefan and give him the goodbye, because of everything they had been through and been to each other, and because she believed it was the right thing to do. Why does Damon (and everyone else) seem to take that as the end all be all of Elena's decisions? Who is to say that a few months later human Elena wouldn't have changed her mind and realized she made a mistake? Because we all know that's exactly what would have happened if she hadn't become a vampire. So with all of these facts that the audience is well aware of, it's honestly just god awful writing to have the characters continue to say stupid things like this over and over and over again when we all know that its bullsh*t. Do they think we are all idiots? And that we won't notice all the inconsistencies? Or is it that THEY are idiots and THEY don't notice the inconsistencies? Either way, its not good.
Then there is the Lily Salvatore storyline, which is just awful. Why choose to make their mother such a terrible person? It doesn't even make sense. Who taught those boys how to love then? Why do they both have such big hearts? Raised by an abusive and cold father and an apparently selfish and crazy mother, neither one of them should have turned out the way they did. Again, bad writing.
It's like these people really don't understand the first thing about people, or real emotion, or logic lol. We all could have written this better. All of us. And they think their ending is going to be some big surprise? Well, that's what they said about last season's finale too, but we all guessed exactly what was going to happen. And chances are its going to be the same now too. '
I feel betrayed lol! They betrayed us all. It makes me angry.

Yeah and this episode Bonnie will be telling Elena maybe she won't love Damon once she turns back to human. Hello you gave the damn cure to Damon to give to her? It seems rather suspect to me now what her motives for doing that were, especially given that she CLAIMED it was his choice but then got angry with him for not offering it to her. What are these writers trying to do here? Show us Bonnie got a massive crush on Damon in the 1994 world and wants to ruin Delena. Oh yeah that's great groundwork for Bamon there isn't it? Do these writers even think about what they write? Bonnie is looking more like a villain to me than a friend to either of them right now. *Outlander reference*: She's becoming the Laoghaire to Delena...next will be the voodoo doll under their bed I suppose! For the record I would never want a girl who sabotages a couple to ever get the guy! Especially the sneaky kind who tries to act innocent and like it's their choice to do the sabotaging... Sorry for the anti-Bonnie here but I wanted to answer how I felt about this particular writing they are doing with Bonnie in reply to your post.

And Elena makes Damon into "Matt Donovan" a bartender....yeah let's just pretend she never broke up with Matt because he had their lives all mapped out and she didn't want that, shall we? I agree MissMystic that it is in direct contradiction to what she has said all along and now suddenly this is what she really wants? Way to make your heroine look like an idiot. At this point Matt and Elena will probably end up together just to put some icing on this cake of s***.

weslocked:
if you wanna know what regret feels like ask someone who once considered TVD as their favourite show.
This statement on tumblr has a whopping 7,418 notes at the moment. That's freaking HUGE considering most of the time statements along this line have always been under the 1000 range (ship/character complaints etc.) but this is bout the show in general so wow was all I had to say when I saw the notes of this.
