Teppy debates, sometimes...brave soul. This is the only place we can get opposing views, where we can hear both sides so that's why when I'm up for it, I don't mind a good debate. The trick is to not take it personally and it can be quite enjoyable to try to make your point heard. We fight pretty fair here. Other places the debates go much worse. There's one heavily SE place I go that is painful to try to debate in because absolutely nobody is listening and everyone is baashing Damon to the extreme but I go there sometimes when I am feeling very feisty. ;D

I say forum drive-bys work. Sign up on other forums, advertise to come our way, get in a fight with the Mods there that will resonate with the fans that have problems with the Mods, etc.. Hijack JP's twitter account and post a link here. Get some TV equipment, hijack TVD during a commercial break and show the site's URL.

Im already how used to everything goes down here as far as the threads.. I guess maybe have episode discussion threads open for all fans oppose to just discussing it in the DE? I know you guys are hardcore when it comes to DE I've seen and witnessed it But you not going to attract any SEs here if everything goes down in the DE thread So maybe you can start with the episode discussion thread =) I know we do have those season discussion eps I use to post in them from time to time but most of the things I have to say regarding the weekly ep are about Delena mainly and sometimes I'm not so easy on Stefan which is why I feel more comfortable sticking to the DE discussion board rather then going to the episode discussion threads and ranting about Stefan and Delena lol But I do agree we need more members in general so we can have more discussions about the overall ep itself and plots like the Silas thing and whatnot.

Posted this in the wrong thread - apologies!
Can't see where Stelana fans are in denial anymore than Delana fans are. There have been many, many hints/foreshadowings that Stelana is the end game - both by the writers and by the characters themselves.
This is not to say that Stelana is the endgame or even that Delana is - just that it is being played very canny and it could go either way or not at all (meaning Elena doesn't pick either Salvatore). There are things said and done to support both sides.
Caroline and Klaus have both "confirmed" that Stelana is the end game in various declarations.
Conversely we have been told that the sire bond only expands an existing emotion.
It could be argued both ways that the compulsion had Elena stating the "real" truth vs. what she thinks is the truth due to the sire bond.
Could it be that right now the vampire Elena is in love with Damon but the human part of Elena is in love with Stefan and the sire bond is bringing the vampire portion more to the front?
Clearly, Elena loves both Salvatores - but that is the only thing we know for sure.
Elena herself qualified her feelings in the phone call to Damon - once again leaving it unanswered as to whether or not she is in love with Damon for real or because of the sire bond.
The other thing the viewers don't know yet is what, if any, are the differences between a sire bond that is strictly vampire to vampire vs. hybrid to hybrid. The whole wolf pack component could make the sire bond in hybrid's a different kettle.
All of the hybrids have been sired vs. a very few of the vampires.
If I had to guess, I would say that the wolf creates the sire bond in all hybrids but we just don't know why some vampires experience the sire bond while most don't.

If I had to guess, I would say that the wolf creates the sire bond in all hybrids but we just don't know why some vampires experience the sire bond while most don't. I've actually posed something similar before in another thread about the bonds, even factoring the Wolf aspect, which is the basis for a Hybrid. The only thing that's been said about Hybrids is that they're grateful to Klaus for giving them control over their change/curse. However, I've asked the question what would the result be if a Werewolf was fine with their change? What if they accepted the change every month, had a spot in the woods they went to to run free without hurting anyone and were part of a pack that was fine with their life too? If Klaus came along and changed them, would they be sired to him? What if Klaus turned Brady & Jules' pack, who seemed to take pride in being Werewolves and were anti-Vampire? Would the bond be in effect? So we have that and the 2 Vampire cases we have are kind of night and day. Look at what little we've seen of Charlotte and what we've seen of Elena. Sadly, it seems the show likes to downplay the Werewolf part of the Hybrids. Most of what we see of them is Vampire-oriented/based.

What Nandi said:
Nandi: “The bond can’t be broken with magic. A vampire only bonds to her sire when she has feelings for him before she turns…human feelings. Vampirism only heightens those emotions. You want her free? You have to set her free. Tell her to live her life without you. And never think of you again. And to stop caring about you. And then leave her. That’s the only way around the sire bond.â€
Her vampirism heightened ALL her feelings so that didn't make anything change specifically for Damon. Everything was heightened. In essence she had been supressing those feelings as we know from the prior season in favor of her safer choice, Stefan. But once she turned I don't think she was able to keep suppressing that. Those feelings were there already and probably her negative feelings toward Stefan as well, which she also suppressed because she didn't think she should have them. This is what I think happened. All the sire bond proved is that she had those feelings before she turned.
Nowhere in the show has it been said that the sire bond can affect how she feels toward someone....nowhere.

I agree that the sire bond brought out her existing emotions for Damon - but I can't see where the sire bond would affect her emotions towards Stefan - as she was not sired to Stefan.
Now being a vampire heightens all of her emotions and that in and of itself would heighten her feelings about Stefan.
So it seems very plausible that the sire bond took her love for Damon and turned it into being "in love" with Damon.
Problem is that Elena the person would not be happy with the lack of choice one way or the other. I think this is where the real conflict lies.

What the show told us does not support that her feelings for Damon were affected by the sire bond. In fact, quite the opposite when Tyler told her that it did NOT affect emotions.
And Damon knows she would not be happy that her free will is taken away when she's under the sire bond influence and he has said he'll get her the cure. He can't really do much else at this point.

Like many things on the show - we have been given contrary information. One source said it was based on existing emotions and another said it was not.
Damon could free her from the sire bond, as he did the girl in New Orleans. Just sayin'...(and he may yet do so)
