Exactly, he had everything planned out but I think Klaus is ultimately team Klaus and "Always and Forever" with his siblings. So, he acted in a way that the ones he truly cares about will come out OK - he made sure he didn't kill Cami and fed her the plan, making sure that Elijah would be un-daggered and ok, his plan was to kill Rebekah's body, but because he knew she would go back to her original self. Marcel got a little torture, but that was mostly payback. Gia, I think is dead - from what we've seen before between the two shows, that looks like dead, lol.
As far as Haley goes, in his mind he didn't kill her (which is what Dahlia wanted), but I think this curse will be reversible since there are so many witches around, BUT I don't think it's a snap your fingers kind of thing so they might be that way for a while and Haley is gonna be pissed when it's all over. It could also be a way to keep those characters out of the way for a while as they work on other larger story arcs.
One thing that bugged me though, when Haley decided she was going to go back and help Jackson and the wolves and she gave the baby to the old lady! Seriously?! Suppose Klaus was fighting the wolves and Dahlia had tasked herself to go find Hope? The cloaking spell was already gone, and Haley saw the red smoke so she knew Dahlia was in the area. Do you think that old wolf would be able to protect your child by herself? Dumb!
I agree about Bekah, she's been fading into the background since they got rid of the Eva storyline so I wonder if that was also a way to detach us a bit from the actress. She was doing a great job and they had all these reasons that they were going to keep her in that body, but all of it fizzled out this episode when they immediately started un-linking her from the children. I thought that was weird because that was the big reason they had for keeping her in that body. I think Davina won't give up on bringing Kol back in some form or another either, so we might see him by the end of next week or beginning of S3.

Is anyone planning on watching TO this season? I thought the season premiere was really good. SUCH a surprise - the opening scene! I got so many feels seeing all of the 'original' Original siblings together!!! I think this is going to be a really good season but unfortunately for TO, they are opposite Scandal (and other Thursday night shows/football).
I just love seeing Elijah - he is such a bad a** - it was great when he took care of the wolf hunters like it was nothing. Even though I knew Haley wouldn't be dead, I still got the chills when that guy said they were killing wolves.
I'm interested to see what will happen with the witches this season, they always have such an intricate and complicated storyline on this show. I love that in TO, the vampires, werewolves and witches always have their own SLs going on and then they intertwine. Unlike with TVD, it's mostly a vampire SL with the other ones helping out with whatever is going on with them. Dare I saw I enjoyed this premiere more than TVD?

I did see the first few minutes of it since it came on after TVD and I thought it looked interesting. I might have to catch up on the episodes I've missed maybe...not sure. Lucien looked interesting!

Ooh, he was interesting and charming. I can't wait to see what they do with his character. I always love that they bring back characters of the 'past' and give us flashbacks to integrate them into the story. Funny thing is that their lives span thousands of years so they could do that type of stuff forever and just insert history wherever they want to. One part I know you would not like of this episode though is that Klaus rolled out some more paintings - he actually opened an art gallery too, lol.

After last season's finale I had pretty much made up my mind not to watch anymore. Klaus' inability to learn any lessons was becoming too exhausting to deal with. Every time I started to think he was making progress, he'd turn around and do something awful. It's really hard for me to love a story where I can't fully support and root for at least one person. I like Elijah, but his whole wishy washy hesitation with Hayley maid it hard for me to support him. Also he is too serious. I like Klaus because he can be jib and serious, but his petulance is really irritating. And the hardest thing for me is that there are really no women on the show that I love. I have come around to Hayley in some ways, but she still not really the kind of person I can sympathize easily with. And I really don't like Cami, I find her very bland and mostly useless. And Davina is just annoying. Rebekah is the one I like the most, but she's hardly ever there lol. Anyways, long story short, I had given up on it ... until I heard that Jason Dohring (Logan from Veronica Mars) was going to be on it this season lol. I am such a sucker for that man. So I decided to give the premiere a chance.
First off, so far not nearly enough Jason Dohring for me lol. However, the episode was interesting, and I did enjoy it. First of all, I love the flash back stories. When I first heard they were going to make the Originals into it's own show, the whole reason I was excited was because of the prospect of all the flashback stories they could tell. Like you said, thousand years of history to cover. They have an infinite amount of stories they can tell. I was hoping for a show somewhat akin to the Highlander in that way. Last season was somewhat disappointing on that front, they didn't do enough of that for me. But this story they started telling in this episode was GREAT. I loved it. What an interesting part of their progression that I never even thought about!: they didn't always know how to use compulsion! What a revelation lol. It's going to be very interesting to see how that unfolds. It's so interesting to see them all afraid and having to live by their wits because they didn't know they had that ability. Very cool.
Meanwhile I agree with you about Elijah and the wolf hunters. That was very bad*ss. And yeah, when they said they were killing wolves, I was horrified. I knew Hayley wouldn't be dead, but lots of other people could have been. Very sad. And of course now Hayley has another reason to Hate Klaus ... good times lol. And I'm glad Freya is sticking around, I hope she provides some decent female character stories. But I hope Rebekah comes back soon.
Anyways, I'm going to give it another chance and watch a few episodes. If they don't put Jason Dohring more front and center though ... I may revolt lol.

I didn't finish tonight's episode, but did anyone else (if anyone is watching, lol) just want Cami to die last week? OK, that sounds so wrong unless you saw the episode, lol.

I've been a bit behind on the Originals episodes. I've only watched the first episode of this season. But my cousin watches and he tells me some stuff from time to time when he visits. There's a war going on with sire lines (there's actually a crossover episode in the works where Stefan comes to NO regarding that issue as well) and a prophecy, if I'm remembering correctly that needs to be figured out. I found out what happened with Cami being on tumblr haha. That was the mid season finale in line with Damon and Stefan getting trapped in the Phoenix stone. I can imagine how surprising that would have been to see Cami like that and wondering if she would stay dead or not, especially after her moment with Klaus. I have to wonder why they went with changing Cami though and judging from the promo, she's a bit different from herself. As a vampire your human traits are supposed to be amplified right so why is she, 'like Klaus' as she put it. Of course I'm well out of context and could be missing something. But back to changing Cami, it's a bit of a been there done that. They could have kept her human, her relationship with Klaus was more appealing that way. I liked that there was that human aspect and it kept it separate from Klaroline with how similar the couples already appear to be on the surface already.

I liked that there was that human aspect and it kept it separate from Klaroline with how similar the couples already appear to be on the surface already. The mid-season finale and last week's episodes were really good - very surprising to see who died and what has been going on. I won't go into too much detail - I wasn't sure where everyone was in episodes - but the stories are well written and keep you guessing. As for Cami, she went through this whole diatribe with Klause about not wanting to turn and yada yada yada, and it made sense for her character. Then she ends up turning anyways and now instead of being more like how Elena was when she turned (very conflicted and trying to be good), Cami did a 180 and is sexier and just super confident. I only saw the first 20 minutes or so tonight, so maybe she has a 'Come to Jesus' with Klaus and her attitude changes by the end of the episode, but I just felt like she would have been more like Caroline's dad if she had the option to make the choice and just decide not to turn. I'm not sure what Aurora got of turning Cami, because now Cami and Klaus can be together forever (literally) if they wanted to. She probably thought Cami would just want to die and that would be the best way for her to hurt Klaus. Another main character did die, not sure if you've seen that yet, but great scene. The war with the Strix and the prophecy, all very good. Divina is still trying to bring Kole back - which was part of tonight's episode so I'm not sure yet what happened. All in all, very good.

Kole's back! I've always liked Kole, but I hope he doesn't turn into a lovesick puppy with Divina. Well, what am I saying, JP won't let a ship be happy!!
Speaking of JP the ship-killer, down goes Klamile! I didn't care about them, but womp. And in the same episode, she squashes Halijah (for now anyways). JP really must have had her heart broken and is like "death to couples!" LOL

Oh and Finn too! Was Finn ever anyone's favorite Original? Don't think I've heard that before. But he does look darn good.

Wow with all the siblings coming back in their own bodies, it's starting to feel like how the show should have been in the beginning with the entire dynamic, the conflicting personalities of all the Originals together was always the fun of that dynamic. I don't know what crazy plot breaking shenanigans JP did to get them back in their original bodies after making it seem like it was impossible but who cares now that we got a majority of the originals back lol. I'm still slowly trudging along through the episodes.
I'll admit on his own, Finn never really stood out to me, but again when you have his personality going against Klaus' that's what makes it interesting. I'm not sure if Finn will suffer from his character going OOC or if JP forgot how she written him but hopefully these characters will still feel like they used to back on TVD. Elijah's already fallen out of favor with me, his character feels like it's all over the place and I never did like his romance with Hayley, it's like it only happened because she was just one of the main females on the show and JP wanted to recreate the angsty triangle dynamic of TVD. And hearing about the fall of Klamille yet another pairing doomed by JP, it makes you want to laugh more than anything. It's just over the top at this point how JP just never lets any couple ever be happy. I'm just glad when it comes to TO, I pretty much go with the flow and not really invested one way or the other when it comes to the romances.

With the exception of Rebekah, all of the Original siblings (in original bodies) were in this episode and it was so good. I really like how they are writing this season, and there's a big difference between how they create lore on this show and TVD. For example, with TVD and Rayna, they just kind of threw in stuff about the Phoenix stone and sword, and although it was new lore, it just could have been written and incorporated better. With TO, they have Lucien now trying to become a bigger better version of an Original vampire, but the way they've written it - telling us how he needed Esther's spell and also using all 7 lines of werewolf packs, they have somehow explained it so that it makes sense. They've also done a great job of making him and the threat of Aurora a really scary thought. Something happens to Finn at the end of the episode that helps tie it all together and explain what Lucien was doing and I wish that they were still writing like this on TVD.

So now they have Aurora subdued and they are trying to come up with a plan to kill her and Lucien because they are too powerful. Is it just me or does this stuff get silly? I know we wouldn't have a show if they could just kill them off, but we've all seen how easy it is to kill someone with a little distraction and then chopping off their head (Kai) or pulling out their heart (Julian). I feel like they could just snap their necks and pull their hearts out. Doesn't matter how powerful you are, you can't grow a new heart. I know I'm being a smart a** and we need to go through the process, but sometimes I'm just like "Oh just take the dagger and chop off his head", lol.
