When his experience in the Phoenix stone leads him to do the unthinkable, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) finds himself without a care in the world, spiraling out of control and under the influence of a dangerous and reckless Julian (guest star Todd Lasance). Refusing to give up on his brother, Stefan (Paul Wesley) attempts to reason with Damon only to uncover the devastating reason for his descent. Elsewhere, Caroline (Candice King) begins having some dangerous side effects as a result of her supernatural pregnancy and is forced to turn to Valerie (guest star Elizabeth Blackmore) for help. Meanwhile, Bonnie (Kat Graham), Nora (guest star Scarlett Byrne) and Mary Louise (guest star Teressa Liane) attempt to track down a ruthless vampire hunter named Rayna (guest star Leslie-Anne Huff) after they suspect that she has reemerged. Zach Roerig and Michael Malarkey also star. Pascal Verschooris directed the episode written by Rebecca Sonnenshine (#712). Original airdate 2/12/2016. I like this season a lot Ehhh, why'd you like Stefan beating up Damon? I mean Stefan admitted he tried to kill Damon while he was thinking he was in the hellworld and if Caroline hadn't stopped him he would have done it, right? So how is that different and where does Stefan think he gets the high moral horse to stand on? I hope I didn't spoil anything there cause it's been a while since I watched this episode but I remember I thought he was a dick for what he did to Damon, not that that's unusual!

Because he beat him when Damon said he set Elena on fire and killed her. Mental tricks ect... are ok but I love it when Damon or Stefan beat each other up and you can understand it. Example Damon punching stefan for "Your humanity is showing" = Meh. Damon punching stefan for accusing him of using his sire bond = Hell yeah! I.e If they they have a great reason and it come from a good place I like it. I feel Damon had more from the right place hits recently and I like Stefan getting one. Like Damon in the bad dream episode (i hate those so much , such a tired trope) killing everyone (almost) was just dull to me. Damon beating people when he has a reason I route for I cheer (example see above) I'm sorry If someone told me they set my girldfriend on fire and killed her to feel "like themselves" I'd hit them too. It's like anything give me a reason to cheer and I love it. Hence I loved both Batman vs Superman and Civil war. I felt the reasons were enough I could route for the violence.

LOL...well Elena is pretty far removed from being Stefan's girlfriend now and in fact I felt like Stefan would have been better served to be empathetic to Damon's plight knowing how much he loved Elena and having set aside his own feelings in the matter a while ago. To me that would have been the more 'brotherly' thing to do in the circumstances rather than attack him. To me that showed he still doesn't get it and he will make it about him rather than others, which is not very heroic of him, being as he's supposed to be the hero. For me it just reaffirms how he is NOT the hero at all.

Not when he said he killed her (I know he didnt actually kill her as shes back last season) but if my brother came to me and said he murdered his girlfriend or beat his wife or something. He needs a punch. Elena is removed from been stefan's girlfriend yes BUT a) she's a friend and b) he still doesn't want her set on fire LOL I saw that as his own good. Sometimes people do stupid stuff and need a slap back to reality lol

I don't know but for me it seemed completely insensitive to the fact that Damon is his brother and he was in some serious pain, enough to want to commit suicide by Julian but yet Stefan didn't get that and attacked him instead.

It might be. I'm sorta old school. You don't hit a woman (or set her on fire) and if you do you, you get the s*** beat out of you. Damon might have felt bad or depressed but the mentality I always had was very little communication. I buried my mother not long ago and the most me and my brother could say is "You ok" "yeah" "cool" , that's it. As we don't share feelings or anything like that. The thing damon said he did is so bad it outweighs any sympathy I'd have for him if he was my brother that he would get his ass whipped lol It's like if the roles were reversed I'd expect Damon to kick his ass too. Like when Stefan tried to kill her in the car (bad ass scene I admit lol) just to get to Klaus , Damon should have kicked his ass. (god season 2 + 3 were so ****ing good) I like seeing the brothers bond as I like both I really do. But sometimes they are both idiots lol

Yes you do lol Like i said i know he didn't actually kill her but he + stefan think he do so it's real Yeah trying to kill her was a dick move on Stefans part. Though i loved his "to beat the villian you have to be the better villian" line. Dark stefan is awesome lol but what the bridge represents + trying to kill her = dick move. Though the writing at the time was so ****ing beautiful as that one scene showed he was to far gone. Compaired to him turning it off with caroline this year (though evil caroline was hot) lol

He needs to just accept that side of himself and then he could accept Damon for who he is as well. If only...

Angelous was far more entertaining, but I still preferred Spike and always will prefer Spike with Buffy. Spuffy all day long!

Oh Spuffy was awesome, I just loved bad ass spike (though angel season 5 found best balance between baddass + soul) I also love everyone loves Bangel or Spuffy , no one prefers Riley he's the Matt. Like It's Stelena or Delena no one was pro matt/Elena.
